Estrangement is a blurred topic, in my opinion. It’s a word thrown around without much realisation of the real impacts it has on people. Estrangement refers to the intentional or unintentional severance of previously close relationships, often between family members or friends. This disconnection can arise for many different reasons such as conflicts, misunderstandings, betrayal, or differing values and lifestyles. It’s not something that is short lived, estrangement is typically marked by prolonged periods of little to no contact. The experience of estrangement is closely related to grief, as both lead to a real sense of loss. Just as with mourning the death of a loved one, you grieve the loss of connection, shared history, and future possibilities with the person from whom you are estranged. This grief can be complicated by feelings of rejection, abandonment, and unresolved anger or guilt and unlike bereavement, where society often provides support and understanding, estrangement can lead to a more isolating and disenfranchised form of grief, where the emotional pain is not always recognised. It’s not just simple, it is complex and can lead to your whole life changing. I hope this has helped to explain what estrangement is, but I’d love to hear what you think. Recovering from a toxic relationship, especially one that lasted for years, is incredibly complex and takes a HUGE toll on your mental and physical health. The complex healing process includes: 1. This might mean limiting contact with your ex or anyone who triggers painful memories, and being selective about the kind of energy you allow into your life. 5. Nurturing Your Body: Emotional burnout doesn’t just affect your mind; it also manifests physically. Prioritise rest, nutrition, and gentle physical activity to restore your body’s vitality. Consider practices like yoga or meditation to help reconnect with your body and calm your nervous system. 6. Seeking Professional Help: Don’t underestimate the value of professional support. A therapist or life coach can provide you with the tools and strategies needed to navigate your healing journey and regain control over your life. 7. Embracing the Journey: Healing from emotional burnout after a toxic relationship is not a linear process. There will be ups and downs, but each step forward is a victory. Be patient with yourself and celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Remember, it’s okay to take your time. TᕼE ᑭOᗯEᖇ Oᖴ TᕼE ᗪOᐯE I've been thinking a lot about why the ancient Greeks called our subconscious mind, our "heart of hearts." We all have perfect faith in what we fear. In fact, it is one of those ugly six basic fears that often stifles the lonely dove. The dove rarely outweighs our fears. Today I had an epiphany about this as a guest on Dr. Marcia Thomas' audio room discussing heart centered and servant leadership. Today, "out of my confusion came clarity." We do have perfect faith in our creator, and we achieved that through years and countless repetitive thoughts toward that end. And it feels so good, for sure. So, there's the one lonely dove living in our subconscious, non-thinking, repetitive, reactive mind. The dove is developed in the same manner, we have perfect faith in our basic fears. Through the same repetition we have with prayer and developing a sound relationship with our creator, so to do we have that with our own fear of criticism. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱 𝘶𝘱, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨? 𝘞𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘦? Yes you have gotten it wrong and others have laughed at you ... and me too ... and it happens more than once for us and when we think of it whenever we are asked to or want to do something, the way we 'felt' when it happened returns with the memory. That doesn't feel good. And then there are flurry of doves. In our conscious, objective, responsive and connected to our creator, mind, our doves, however, may not and likely are not yet strong enough to outwit and outweigh any fear that shows up. Each dove grows like any muscle, in direct proportion to its use. Perhaps it’s something we work on all our lives. We can build new 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘴 to outweigh every one of those ugly fears and we can do it when we get a new idea! Because our fears will stop most of us in our tracks when we even think about doing something we’ve failed at, or something we’ve never even tried before. We have deep Faith in our Fears ... it's challenging for our creator to have a voice amongst them. Each fear shows up at different times. Very few as example do not have the fear of poverty ... they would have to be born into wealth and never hear "we can't afford that" dozens of times year after year. We all know the fear of illness ... we wore masks because we had faith in that fear during our recent world pandemic. These six ugly, thought-dominating beliefs cover fear of criticism, poverty, illness, loss of love, old age, and death. Yet on the other side, the doves are gaining strength every day, are and will suppress the reactive fear, which include developing a keener understanding of the nature of perception, imagination, memory, reason, focus, will, and curiosity. As there is a solution to bring all the doves into the subconscious mind to be the voice of our creator, and thereby out shadowing the old faiths, it’s all done with the love of the dove.

In the last of our 3-part series, we look at the toll stress and anxiety take on our emotions. Once you notice HOW you do stress and anxiety, you can take steps to take back control. Stress and anxiety behaviours aren’t something that happen TO you. They are habits you have formed over time. Don’t let these things run your life. Remember, it’s okay to take a break, breathe, and tackle one thing at a time. You’re stronger than you think! Irritability Find yourself snapping easily? Stress shortens our fuses, leaving us feeling irritable and out of character. Let's explore ways to channel that frustration into something positive, turning irritability into creativity and calm. Mood Swings Find your mood flipping without much reason? Anxiety leads to sudden and intense mood swings, affecting your emotional stability. Recognizing the influence of anxiety is the first step in gaining control over these swings. Eating Habits Stress eating or skipping meals? Anxiety disrupts our eating habits, affecting our health and mood. It's important to listen to our bodies and find balance in our diet. Let's talk about restoring harmony to your meals and your mind. Nervousness Feeling jittery or nervous, especially in social settings or before major events, is a common manifestation of anxiety. Techniques in hypnotherapy help soothe the nervous system and promote a calm, confident demeanor. Panic Attacks One of the most intense effects of anxiety is the panic attack, characterized by sudden overwhelming anxiety, physical symptoms like heart palpitations, and a feeling of losing control. Understanding and managing triggers can greatly reduce their frequency and intensity. Relationship Strain Anxiety doesn't only affect you—it strains your relationships too. Welldoing: The dedicated practice and pursuit of wellbeing. I wrote about well doing in my last blog. I am an expert in this field - mainly because I’m an expert in failing at it. And because I keep slipping off and having to get back on the practice wheel over and over again (and the tonnage of books, trainings and education of course) I’ve become an expert. I know I’ll not alone in the falling off part. That’s part of the learning journey. I do it spectacularly. Some great ways to self sabotage and fail: >> Ignore what your body is trying to tell you >> Fill up your diary so there’s no capacity for ‘let down’ time >> Stop doing all the things that make you feel better / brilliant >> Try to be superwoman >> Don’t accept any help or support and become a martyr >> Comfort with crap food and booze Thankfully I’m also quite good at getting back together again - and it starts with awareness. And all these red flags are just signals to tell us to be a bit compassionate towards ourselves and start to do the things that we know will make us cope better. Here’s to getting back on board! Let's talk about about something different today! '𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲' Have you ever noticed that when you travel to the Southern Hemisphere, constellations look upside down compared to what you're used to seeing in the Northern Hemisphere? Yeah, constellations can look completely different depending on where you are in the world And It's not because the stars moved or disappeared; It's all about perspective. The Earth is a round planet, which means that as we move around the sun, the angle at which we observe the stars from changes Think of it like taking a picture of a painting from different angles - you'll see different parts of the painting depending on where you stand. Same with how your left hand appears as the right in a mirror, the same principle applies to the night sky when viewed from the other side of the world. It's all a reminder that the way we view things is always relative to our perspective. And by changing our perspective, we can see things in a whole new light. What seems "upside down" to one person could be "right-side up" for another. It all depends on your perspective. So if you're feeling stuck, try changing your perspective.
