When we first started speaking with Gary Bevan at the beginning of 2023, we were excited about partnering the world's most loved children's performers, The Wiggles, with Australia's most trusted brand, Reckitt's Dettol. Fast forward to 2024, and we're delighted to see the campaign come to life with the launch of the 'Wash Like The Wiggles with Dettol' campaign and two colourful new handwashes. The new campaign promotes essential hand hygiene habits among children in a fun and engaging way. Thanks to everyone at WiredCo. for bringing this special campaign to life so beautifully. **The Challenge: ** Did you know that a staggering 87% of children between the ages of three and six do not wash their hands properly by not washing for the recommended 20+ seconds? This statistic highlights the importance of educating children on handwashing and good hygiene practices. But let’s be honest: handwashing is not something that excites children, and the thought of getting them to do it may evoke even less excitement for parents. **The Solution: ** As part of this partnership, Dettol and The Wiggles have created a catchy and educational handwashing song that makes handwashing fun but also highly memorable to teach children to wash their hands properly. In addition to the handwashing song, Dettol has also introduced two new kids Colour Foaming Handwashes to help encourage children to wash their hands for longer. These products will make it enjoyable for children to develop good hand hygiene habits from an early age. We're so excited to announce this partnership today between The Wiggles and Thrifty Car & Truck Rental Australia. These two icons have teamed up to launch 'Backseat Bandmates' - an in-car musical adventure and activity pack to help parents tackle road trip tantrums. A huge thank you to Megan Rogers (née Weaver), Heidi Miller, Mikinley Earl, Andy Scales and CampaignLab for working with us and bringing this partnership to life. The collaboration turns rental cars into rolling rock shows that will have children singing along to their favourite The Wiggles hits and playing new, interactive family games. Plus, a few surprise goodies to keep children entertained. This all follows research into the struggles parents have faced when road-tripping with children revealing: - On average the dreaded ‘Are we there yet?’ is asked over 20 times per road trip. - Boredom (75%) and sibling conflicts (42%) are called out as major reasons for children throwing tantrums during road trips. - Aussie’s most popular methods for distracting children on journeys include providing snacks (72%), using electronic devices (51%) and stopping at service stations (46%). - One in ten parents say they have threatened to end the road trip and go home to avoid meltdowns. The packs will be rolled out and made available for free across Thrifty Car Rental sites from today – to give everyone a stress-free and fun travel experience on their next road trip.
