From the saddle to an office desk, or behind the barriers in Broome to multi-million-dollar stud farms in New South Wales, Kelly Chapman is enjoying her ride in racing. 🏇🏇 On weekdays, Kelly is a Customer Service Officer at Racing and Wagering Western Australia’s Osborne Park head office, while she can also be found at times at regional racecourses across the State working as a barrier attendant. “The two roles are definitely very different, but I really enjoy both of them,” Kelly said. The 2000 racegoers at yesterday’s TABtouch Roebourne Cup were greeted by a “blue-tiful” visual reminder to check in with family and friends. As part of the Racing WA Community Fund partnership with the Blue Tree Project, Nor West Jockey Club members, Racing WA and the Blue Tree Project came together to paint the metal tree at the iconic Pilbara racecourse to spread the message “it’s OK to not be OK”. A special thanks to the Nor West Jockey Club, Member for Pilbara Kevin Michel, Blue Tree Project founder Kendall Whyte, RWWA Board Member Colin Holt and the industry participants in attendance for helping make the day possible.
