Robotic Packaging Solution for Cork Stoppers – see the my.KUKA Customer Story of the month by KUKA Official System Partner ESI Robotics: The Portuguese robotics specialist developed an application that allows cork to be packaged more efficiently than ever. Instead of filling bags with cork, the product is stacked efficiently into boxes, reducing space and packaging material. Then, our KUKA KR IONTEC handles the filled boxes, enabling the installation to be fully automated. The result? As the volume is reduced by 30% and plastic packaging is not required anymore, costs of logistic and of the final product are reduced drastically. On top comes an optimised ecological footprint. Automotive supplier welds ladder frames automatically MAGNA Presstec in Lebring, Austria, near Graz, manufactures ladder frames for the #Mercedes G-Class on a fully automated production line thanks to #KUKA. The ladder frame of the off-road icon is a robust and durable off-road vehicle. The main focus was therefore explicitly on technology and recognisability. The ladder frame was specially redesigned to ensure the necessary stability of the body. The challenges of the long and narrow production and logistics area at MAGNA Presstec and the size of the component were solved by 45 robots, which act as MAG robots and also take over the handling. Sealing & insulating with KUKA In order to make corrosion protection, sealing and acoustic insulation in the automotive industry increasingly sustainable and efficient, #Audi relies on alternative joining processes by #KUKA to reliably join a wide variety of materials. At the main plant in Ingolstadt, several Audi models in a wide range of variants will be sealed and insulated using 10 #KUKA robot stations on the production line, including material supply. The #bodies on the underbody and add-on parts on the sheet metal transitions are automatically sealed with PVC. In addition, a sprayable insulating compound is applied to the interior of the body for acoustic insulation.
