Today Crown has announced its partnership with international hospitality figure Grant Smillie to create a new venue, Marmont, which will open this summer. With a Californian-inspired concept, Marmont will be a day-to-night venue, offering a diverse menu of small plates, complemented by a sophisticated beverage proposition. With direct access from the Riverwalk, Marmont will offer uninterrupted views of the Yarra River and Melbourne skyline, and seamlessly transition from alfresco dining during the day, sunset drinks, to evening get togethers with sounds from the all-vinyl DJ console. Marmont takes space from the previously announced 'The Henley'. Mike Volkert, Crown Melbourne CEO, said: “We look forward to bringing Grant’s international hospitality experience to an iconically Melbourne location as we look to further enhance the Riverwalk and create a more lively and approachable experience for our guests and passersby”.

Last week, hundreds of team members turned out to hear from our leaders and attend the Crown Resorts Group Town Hall events held at each of our properties in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne. After a busy few months, it was a great opportunity for us to come together, discuss plans for the future, and celebrate our many achievements. Our organisation is well on the road of transformational change with exciting plans for the future. We have a lot to look forward to as we continue to create joyful, elevated experiences and seek to become the ultimate entertainment destination in each of our cities!

It’s always a privilege when someone chooses Crown to make lasting memories with family and friends.   We recently hosted Breast Cancer Care WA founder, Dr Ros Worthington OAM for an extra special experience with her granddaughters.   October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, with $5 to be donated from every high tea sold from our Lobby Lounge at Crown Perth to be donated to supporting the Living Well program, which offers a holistic, community-based approach for breast cancer survivors and metastatic clients. 

With AFL Grand Final fever sweeping our nation, the team at Crown are preparing for a busy weekend ahead across our properties. Tomorrow also marks World Tourism Day and is an opportunity to acknowledge the incredible work of our team in providing joyful, elevated experiences for the 36 million visitors that come to our properties each year – more than all visits to the Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Cricket Ground and Perth’s Optus Stadium combined! To celebrate, we’re profiling our Front Office Supervisor, Freya Downie, who was recently recognised for her dedication to the sector, named the Hotel Industry Rising Star at the Victorian Accommodation Awards for Excellence last month. We’re proud to be a leading global tourism provider to support our country’s ongoing tourism recovery by creating world-class entertainment experiences for our guests each and every day.

At Crown, we’re proud to provide opportunities for our team members to hear from leaders from all walks of life. Today, some of our Crown Perth team members were lucky enough to meet and hear from Caitlin Parker OLY - the first ever Australian woman to win a medal in boxing at the Olympics. Caitlin spoke to our team openly and warmly about the role of resilience, mindfulness and visualisation in her ride to the top of her sport. We can’t wait to welcome Caitlin back again soon.  🥉

Being recognised for this prestigious honor wouldn’t have been possible without our dedicated team members who always go above and beyond to create memorable moments for those who celebrate their special day with us. This induction is the fantastic result of consecutively winning in the same category across a period of five years, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in quality, service, value and professionalism. Nothing makes us prouder than seeing our team members giving back in the community. Crown Perth’s Director of Culinary Sean Marco recently cooked up a storm at the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia Five Chefs Dinner in Perth, raising money for seriously ill children and their families. Chef Sean took on the fourth course of the degustation dinner, wowing more than 450 guests with a beef filet served with king brown mushroom, miso onion, jalapeno brassicas, and teriyaki – all while raising money for a good cause. 

Today Crown has announced that it is the new naming rights partner for two of the biggest days on the Australian racing calendar, Oaks Day, and Makybe Diva Stakes Day. As part of this partnership Crown assumes the naming rights of Crown Oaks Day, the Group 1 Crown Oaks, Crown Makybe Diva Stakes Day, the Group 1 Crown Makybe Diva Stakes, and the VRC Spring Gala and VRC Oaks Club Lunch, both held at Crown Palladium. This announcement builds upon Crown’s existing relationship with the Victoria Racing Club where Crown is the current Principal Hospitality Services Partner - a three-year partnership that commenced in 2022 that sees Crown managing hospitality offerings across Flemington Racecourse. Crown will also return to host a marquee in the exclusive and world-renowned Birdcage Enclosure throughout the four days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
