  • P A R T N E R S Last week our team had the pleasure of witnessing an exciting new partnership between our alumni and university come to fruition at the NSW School Merino Wether Challenge in Dubbo. The challenge showcased a powerful collaboration between industry leaders, educators, and our alumni, all working together to inspire the next generation of agricultural experts. 🐑 The event is a heart-warming and hands-on event that sees 600+ students from 68 high schools across the state caring for Merino wethers over six months, culminating in a competition where students proudly showcase their wethers for judging. 🤝 With our alumni at the helm, Charles Sturt University was proud to join the ongoing generosity of Australian Wool Innovation and Rabobank Australia in supporting the future of Australian Agriculture at a grassroots level through this event. Alumni father-daughter duo Ben and Brooke Watts work year-round with schools, offering students in the challenge hands-on farming experiences. This immersive program not only highlights the importance of the agricultural industry but also reveals the wealth of career opportunities it offers. Congratulations to everyone involved in such a successful event, and an extra special congratulations to event champions St Matthews Catholic College Mudgee - whose team was proudly led by one of our teaching graduates. With innovation, sustainability and a whole lot of heart at the core of what they do, it was a privilege to be a part of such an impactful initiative led by our alumni.
