Thank you Sydney for an outstanding discussion on the impact of GenAI on legal practice at the Centre for Legal Innovation's Roundtable today. I love this space we are all exploring and working in. No one has all the answers, perhaps we never will...and that's OK! It is, after all, also what makes GenAI challenging AND opportunity rich. What an amazing time to be to be working in any industry right now, including legal. For 90 minutes this morning, we got to hit "pause" on the outside world, to spend time together and discuss some of the big issues from a whole bunch of different perspectives - it was energising, candid and real! Huge thanks to all the exceptional people who contributed to the discussion today, to my colleagues at The College of Law Australia NSW for hosting us, and to Christine Westhead for all her hard work on the logistics. Huge thanks also to Fiona McLay who kindly captured the key takeaways which we will publish shortly. We'll be wrapping up this series of Australian Roundtables in Perth at the end of the month so...see you soon WA! #CLI2024 #legalgenai

Fiona McLay has been hosting amazing, super practical sessions in the Legaltech Confab AND on 18 July, the topic is "Power BI - transforming data into decisions." Lots of us are using Microsoft 365 so, why not join the Centre for Legal Innovation and the always amazing Fiona in the next Confab session and learn how to pull out data that matters using a feature you likely already have, Power BI? These sessions are FREE, fun, and this one is waiting for you at 1pm-2pm AEST on 18 July - you can register here: https://loom.ly/SYjAJCM See you there! #CLI2024 #Microsoft365

Thank you wonderful Melbourne based legal GenAI enthusiasts for joining the second of the Centre for Legal Innovation's 2024 Australian in-person Roundtables on “How GenAI is changing legal practice...way beyond the tech” this week....what a discussion! One of the many comments made to me afterwards by one of the participants was how blown away they were by the high level of experience sharing, candour and generosity of the contributors to the discussion and, that was just about everyone in the room. I agree, it is the something special about our roundtables - I hope one of the key takeaways is always how this sort of engaged and practical conversation raises us all up so we can do more for more people, together! There's the opportunity to learn more in 90 minutes than you might in 90 days and we most definitely did that! Huge thanks again to everyone who participated, to Sophie Williams and the whole COL Vic team for hosting us, and to Christine Westhead for all your work on the logistics. I can't wait to do it all again with a full house in Sydney this coming week...woohoo! #CLI2024 #legalgenai #legaltech

We have now published for free and on demand the session in the Centre for Legal Innovation’s Legal GenAI Around the World series focused on Europe + UK. You’ll find the video here: https://lnkd.in/gYY6emvZ And the podcast here (and every where you find your podcasts): https://lnkd.in/gDhXMbmw This was a wide-ranging, practical discussion with people in the know, REALLY in the know. Some of the highlights included: *How law firms like Ashurst are creating and moving along their journey with GenAI – the session was recorded just after they released their excellent “Vox PopulAI: Lessons from a global law firm's exploration of generative AI” (10 June) *Getting into the nitty gritty of what the tech can do, the REAL use cases and how getting educated about and understanding the tech is fundamental to connecting the how and where to apply it to an issue/solution *The global impact of AI legislation and regulation coming out of Europe *How legal education has changed, is changing and must change to prepare the now and next legal workforce *The responsibility and opportunity to leverage this tech (and all tech) to collaborate and positively reshape the legal ecosystem AND, we chatted about lots more, so do please take an hour to watch or listen to these exceptional specialists. Thank you so VERY much Giulio Coraggio, Uwais Iqbal, Tanja Podinic, and Tara L. Waters – we can’t wait to collaborate with you all again! #CLI2024 #legalgenai #legaltech
