ASUU Election Overturned

Dear University of Utah Student Body & University Community,

The ASUU Supreme Court is writing to inform you that the 2025 ASUU Election has been democratically overturned by the student body. The 2025 ASUU Election has been overturned, The Rose Ticket will be our next Student Body Presidency.

The Singh Ticket, who won the 2025 ASUU General Election on February 28th, was found responsible for violating multiple election guidelines by the ASUU Supreme Court.

The Court decided to give those who initially voted for the Singh Ticket the opportunity to re-vote after informing all Singh Ticket voters of these violations.

The Results from the re-vote are as follows:

  • 56 students have chosen to rescind their initial vote from the Singh Ticket
  • 66 students have chosen to vote for the ABC ticket instead of the Singh Ticket
  • 231 students have chosen to vote for the Rose Ticket instead of the Singh Ticket
  • 1,884 students either did not participate in the revote or chose to keep their vote with the Singh Ticket

This brings the totals from ___ to ___ for each ticket as follows:

  • 1,774 → 2,005 for the Rose Ticket
  • 2,237 → 1,884 for the Singh Ticket
  • 1,796 → 1,862 for the ABC Ticket

Note: As you will see above, the original vote count for each Executive Ticket, which was published on February 28, 2025, inadvertently included a small number of incomplete survey responses. These incomplete responses have been removed from each Ticket’s tally, and the accurate numbers are reflected above. It is important to note that this adjustment did not impact the outcome of any race or this Re-Vote.  For more information, please see the Memo on ASUU 2025 General Election Vote Counts, attached below.

The student body has democratically chosen to overturn the election, granting the Rose Ticket the ASUU Presidency for Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 with a final total of 2,005 votes cast in their favor.

If you would like more information, we have attached the Results of the General Election and the results of the Re-Vote. We have also attached the Court's official Written Opinion, fully detailing the Singh Ticket’s violations as well as the sanctions the Court decided to impose on the Singh Ticket. The official notice informing Singh Ticket voters of the re-vote opportunity is also attached.

If you have any questions about this process or the final election results, please contact the Supreme Court:

We look forward to the next academic year, led by Alex Rose, Maddie Dahl, and Auzja Morse, our next ASUU Student Body Presidency.

Sincerely,

Chief Justice Gannett Fisk
