ATLANTA - North Florida's Smilla Kolbe was tabbed the Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year, announced Friday by the league office. Kolbe highlighted the league's 12-person Academic All-ASUN Team.
Kolbe claimed the honor after holding a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA while working towards her degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice. At the 2024 ASUN Championship, she placed first overall in the 800m. The Hanover, Germany, native set a new conference meet record in the event with her time of 2:01.63. This performance also set a new North Florida program record.
The Academic All-ASUN Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the track and in the classroom. All members of the team boast a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
