We report a measurement of the time-dependent CP asymmetry of B0->D(*)CP h0 decays, where the light neutral hadron h0 is a pi0, eta or omega meson, and the neutral D meson is reconstructed in the CP eigenstates K+ K-, K0S pi0 or K0S omega. The measurement is performed combining the final data samples collected at the Y(4S) resonance by the BaBar and Belle experiments at the asymmetric-energy B factories PEP-II at SLAC and KEKB at KEK, respectively. The data samples contain ( 471 +/- 3 ) x 10^6 BB pairs recorded by the BaBar detector and ( 772 +/- 11 ) x 10^6, BB pairs recorded by the Belle detector. We measure the CP asymmetry parameters -eta_f S = +0.66 +/- 0.10 (stat.) +/- 0.06 (syst.) and C = -0.02 +/- 0.07 (stat.) +/- 0.03 (syst.). These results correspond to the first observation of CP violation in B0->D(*)CP h0 decays. The hypothesis of no mixing-induced CP violation is excluded in these decays at the level of 5.4 standard deviations.

The resonant substructures of $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 π^+π^-$ decays are studied with the Dalitz plot technique. In this study a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions collected by the LHCb detector is used. The branching fraction of the $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 π^+π^-$ decay in the region $m(\overline{D}^0π^{\pm})>2.1$ GeV$/c^2$ is measured to be $(8.46 \pm 0.14 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.40) \times 10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the last arises from the normalisation channel $B^0 \to D^*(2010)^-π^+$. The $π^+π^-$ S-wave components are modelled with the Isobar and K-matrix formalisms. Results of the Dalitz plot analyses using both models are presented. A resonant structure at $m(\overline{D}^0π^-) \approx 2.8$ GeV$/c^{2}$ is confirmed and its spin-parity is determined for the first time as $J^P = 3^-$. The branching fraction, mass and width of this structure are determined together with those of the $D^*_0(2400)^-$ and $D^*_2(2460)^-$ resonances. The branching fractions of other $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 h^0$ decay components with $h^0 \to π^+π^-$ are also reported. Many of these branching fraction measurements are the most precise to date. The first observation of the decays $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 f_0(500)$, $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 f_0(980)$, $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 ρ(1450)$, $B^0 \to D_3^*(2760)^- π^+$ and the first evidence of $B^0 \to \overline{D}^0 f_0(2020)$ are presented.

This determination, for the first time performed without assuming a value for the orbital angular momentum, confirms the quantum numbers to be $J^{PC}=1^{++}$. The $X(3872)$ is found to decay predominantly through S wave and an upper limit of $4\%$ at $95\%$ C.L. is set on the fraction of D wave.

The study is based on a sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to $3.0$ ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector. The significance of the signal is $6.4$ standard deviations. The branching fraction is measured to be $[3.31 \pm 0.64\,{\rm (stat)} \pm 0.28\,{\rm (syst)} \pm 0.12\,{\rm (norm)}]\times10^{-5}$, where the third uncertainty comes from the $B^{\pm}\toη' K^{\pm}$ branching fraction that is used as a normalisation. In addition, the charge asymmetries of $B^{\pm}\toη' K^{\pm}$ and $B^{\pm}\toφK^{\pm}$, which are control channels, are measured to be $(-0.2 \pm1.3)\%$ and $(+1.7\pm1.3)\%$, respectively. Triple product and direct $CP$ asymmetries are determined to be compatible with the Standard Model expectations. The branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(B_s^0 \rightarrow K^*(892)^0 \bar{K}{}^*(892)^0)$ is measured to be $(10.8 \pm 2.1 {\ \rm (stat.)} \pm 1.4 {\ \rm (syst.)} \pm 0.6 \ (f_d/f_s) ) \times 10^{-6}$.

Precise measurements of the masses and widths of the B_1(5721)^(0,+) and B_2*(5747)^(0,+) states are reported. Clear enhancements, particularly prominent at high pion transverse momentum, are seen over background in the mass range 5850--6000 MeV in both B+pi- and B0pi+ combinations. The structures are consistent with the presence of four excited B mesons, labelled B_J(5840)^(0,+) and B_J(5960)^(0,+), whose masses and widths are obtained under different hypotheses for their quantum numbers.

Time-dependent $CP$ asymmetries in the decay rates of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed decays $D^0\rightarrow K^-K^+$ and $D^0\rightarrow π^-π^+$ are measured in $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment. The $D^0$ mesons are produced in semileptonic $b$-hadron decays, where the charge of the accompanying muon is used to determine the initial state as $D^0$ or $\bar{D}^0$. The asymmetries in effective lifetimes between $D^0$ and $\bar{D}^0$ decays, which are sensitive to indirect $CP$ violation, are determined to be \begin{align*}
A_Γ(K^-K^+) = (-0.134 \pm 0.077 \; {}^{+0.026}_{-0.034})\% \,
A_Γ(π^-π^+) = (-0.092\pm 0.145 \; {}^{+0.025}_{-0.033})\% \, \end{align*} where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. This result is in agreement with previous measurements and with the hypothesis of no indirect $CP$ violation in $D^0$ decays.

The cross-section in this kinematic range is determined to be $σ_{\rm inel}^{\rm acc} = 55.0 \pm 2.4$ mb within the spectrometer acceptance with an experimental uncertainty that is dominated by systematic contributions. Extrapolation to the full phase space, using PYTHIA 6, yields $σ_{\rm inel} = 66.9 \pm 2.9 \pm 4.4$ mb, where the first uncertainty is experimental and the second is due to the extrapolation.

The difference in total widths between the $B_c^+$ and $B^+$ mesons is measured using 3.0fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the LHCb experiment in 7 and 8 TeV centre-of-mass energy proton-proton collisions at the LHC. Through the study of the time evolution of $B_c^+ \rightarrow J/ψπ^+$ and $B^+\rightarrow J/ψK^+$ decays, the width difference is measured to be
$$ ΔΓ\equiv Γ_{B_c^+} - Γ_{B^+} = 4.46 \pm 0.14 \pm 0.07mm^{-1}c,$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The known lifetime of the $B^+$ meson is used to convert this to a precise measurement of the $B_c^+$ lifetime,
$$τ_{B_c^+} = 513.4 \pm 11.0 \pm 5.7fs,$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Two structures are observed close to the kinematic threshold in the $Ξ_b^0 π^-$ mass spectrum in a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the LHCb experiment. In the quark model, two baryonic resonances with quark content $bds$ are expected in this mass region: the spin-parity $J^P = \frac{1}{2}^+$ and $J^P=\frac{3}{2}^+$ states, denoted $Ξ_b^{\prime -}$ and $Ξ_b^{*-}$. Interpreting the structures as these resonances, we measure the mass differences and the width of the heavier state to be
$m(Ξ_b^{\prime -}) - m(Ξ_b^0) - m(π^{-}) = 3.653 \pm 0.018 \pm 0.006$ MeV$/c^2$,
$m(Ξ_b^{*-}) - m(Ξ_b^0) - m(π^{-}) = 23.96 \pm 0.12 \pm 0.06$ MeV$/c^2$,
$Γ(Ξ_b^{*-}) = 1.65 \pm 0.31 \pm 0.10$ MeV, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The width of the lighter state is consistent with zero, and we place an upper limit of $Γ(Ξ_b^{\prime -}) < 0.08$ MeV at 95% confidence level. Relative production rates of these states are also reported.

The combined analysis produces the first observation of the $B^0_s\toμ^+μ^-$ decay, with a statistical significance exceeding six standard deviations, and the best measurement of its branching fraction so far. Furthermore, evidence for the $B^0\toμ^+μ^-$ decay is obtained with a statistical significance of three standard deviations. The branching fraction measurements are statistically compatible with SM predictions and impose stringent constraints on several theories beyond the SM.

The values obtained are $φ_s = -0.058 \pm 0.049 \pm 0.006$ rad, $Γ_s \equiv (Γ_{L}+Γ_{H})/2 = 0.6603 \pm 0.0027 \pm 0.0015$ps$^{-1}$, and$ΔΓ_s \equiv Γ_{L} - Γ_{H} = 0.0805 \pm 0.0091 \pm 0.0032$ps$^{-1}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. These are the most precise single measurements of those quantities to date. A combined analysis with $B_s^{0} \to J/ψπ^+π^-$ decays gives $φ_s = -0.010 \pm 0.039 $rad. All measurements are in agreement with the Standard Model predictions. For the first time the phase $φ_s$ is measured independently for each polarisation state of the $K^+K^- $ system and shows no evidence for polarisation dependence.

The final state with the largest rate, $J/ψρ^0(770)$, is used to measure the CP-violating angle $2β^{\rm eff}$ to be $(41.7\pm 9.6_{-6.3}^{+2.8})^{\circ}$. This result can be used to limit the size of penguin amplitude contributions to CP violation measurements in, for example, $B_s^0\rightarrow J/ψφ$ decays. Assuming approximate SU(3) flavour symmetry and neglecting higher order diagrams, the shift in the CP-violating phase $φ_s$ is limited to be within the interval [$-1.05^\circ$, +$1.18^\circ$] at 95% confidence level. Changes to the limit due to SU(3) symmetry breaking effects are also discussed.

The decay $B^0 \rightarrow J/ψη^{\prime}$ is observed for thefirst time. The following ratios of branching fractions are measured: $$ \frac{\mathcal{B}(B^0 \rightarrow J/ψη^{\prime})}{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow J/ψη^{\prime})} = (2.28\pm0.65\,(stat)\,\pm0.10\,(syst)\,\pm0.13\,(f_{s}/f_{d}))\times10^{-2},$$ $$ \frac{\mathcal{B}(B^0 \rightarrow J/ψη)}{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow J/ψη)} = (1.85\pm0.61\,(stat)\,\pm0.09\,(syst)\,\pm0.11\,(f_{s}/f_{d}))\times10^{-2},$$ where the third uncertainty is related to the present knowledge of $f_{s}/f_{d}$, the ratio between the probabilities for a $b$ quark to form a $B^0_s$ or $B^0$ meson. The branching fraction ratios are used to determine the parameters of $η-η^{\prime}$ meson mixing. In addition, the first evidence for the decay $B^0_s \rightarrow ψ(2S) η^{\prime}$ is reported, and the relative branching fraction is measured,
$$\frac{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow ψ(2S) η^{\prime})}{\mathcal{B}(B^0_s \rightarrow J/ψη^{\prime})} = (38.7\pm9.0\,(stat)\,\pm1.3\,(syst)\,\pm0.9(\mathcal{B}))\times10^{-2},$$

Measuring cross-sections at the LHC requires the luminosity to be determined accurately at each centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$. In this paper results are reported from the luminosity calibrations carried out at the LHC interaction point 8 with the LHCb detector for $\sqrt{s}$ = 2.76, 7 and 8 TeV (proton-proton collisions) and for $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5 TeV (proton-lead collisions). Both the "van der Meer scan" and "beam-gas imaging" luminosity calibration methods were employed. It is observed that the beam density profile cannot always be described by a function that is factorizable in the two transverse coordinates. The introduction of a two-dimensional description of the beams improves significantly the consistency of the results. For proton-proton interactions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV a relative precision of the luminosity calibration of 1.47% is obtained using van der Meer scans and 1.43% using beam-gas imaging, resulting in a combined precision of 1.12%. Applying the calibration to the full data set determines the luminosity with a precision of 1.16%. This represents the most precise luminosity measurement achieved so far at a bunched-beam hadron collider.

The semileptonic $CP$ asymmetry in $B^0-\overline{B}{}^0$ mixing, $a_{\rm sl}^d$, is measured in proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb$^{-1}$, recorded by the LHCb experiment. Semileptonic $B^0$ decays are reconstructed in the inclusive final states $D^-μ^+$ and $D^{*-}μ^+$, where the $D^-$ meson decays into the $K^+π^-π^-$ final state, and the $D^{*-}$ meson into the $\overline{D}{}^0(\rightarrow K^+π^-)π^-$ final state. The asymmetry between the numbers of $D^{(*)-}μ^+$ and $D^{(*)+}μ^-$ decays is measured as a function of the decay time of the $B^0$ mesons. The $CP$ asymmetry is measured to be $a_{\rm sl}^d = (-0.02 \pm 0.19 \pm 0.30)\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. We report on measurements of the mass and lifetime of the Xi_b^- baryon using about 1800 Xi_b^- decays reconstructed in a proton-proton collision data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment. The decays are reconstructed in the Xi_b^- --> Xi_c^0 pi^-, Xi_c^0 --> pK-K-pi+ channel and the mass and lifetime are measured using the Lambda_b^0 --> Lambda_c^+ pi- mode as a reference. We measure M(Xi_b^-) - M(Lambda_b^0) = 178.36 +- 0.46 +- 0.16 MeV/c^2 and tau(Xi_b^-)/tau(Lambda_b^0) = 1.089 +- 0.026 +- 0.011, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. These results lead to a factor of two better precision on the Xi_b^- mass and lifetime compared to previous best measurements, and are consistent with theoretical expectations.

The cross-section for prompt production of $η_c (1S)$ mesons relative to the prompt $J/ψ$ cross-section is measured, for the first time, to be $σ_{η_c (1S)}/σ_{J/ψ} = 1.74 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.28 \pm 0.18 _{B}$ at a centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.7 fb$^{-1}$, and $σ_{η_c (1S)}/σ_{J/ψ} = 1.60 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.25 \pm 0.17 _{B}$ at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV using 2.0 fb$^{-1}$. The uncertainties quoted are, in order, statistical, systematic, and that on the ratio of branching fractions of the $η_c (1S)$ and $J/ψ$ decays to the $p \bar{p}$ final state. In addition, the inclusive branching fraction of $b$-hadron decays into $η_c (1S)$ mesons is measured, for the first time, to be $B ( b \rightarrow η_c X ) = (4.88 \pm 0.64 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.67 _{B}) \times 10^{-3}$, where the third uncertainty includes also the uncertainty on the $J/ψ$ inclusive branching fraction from $b$-hadron decays. The difference between the $J/ψ$ and $η_c (1S)$ meson masses is determined to be $114.7 \pm 1.5 \pm 0.1$ MeV/c$^2$.

The relative prompt production rate of $χ_{b1}(1P)$ and $χ_{b2}(1P)$ mesons is measured as a function of the $Υ(1S)$ transverse momentum in the $χ_b$ rapidity range $2.0<y<4.5$. A precise measurement of the $χ_b(3P)$ mass is also performed. Assuming a mass splitting between the $χ_{b1}(3P)$ and the $χ_{b2}(3P)$ states of 10.5 MeV/$c^2$, the measured mass of the $χ_{b1}(3P)$ meson is $ m(χ_{b1}(3P))= 10515.7^{+2.2}_{-3.9}(stat) ^{+1.5}_{-2.1}(syst) MeV/c^2.$

Results from an extended approach, which uses additional inputs on B^0 -> π^0π^0 and B^+ -> π^+π^0 decays from other experiments and exploits isospin symmetry, are also presented. The dependence of the results on the maximum allowed amount of U-spin breaking is studied. At 68% probability, the value γ= ( 63.5 +7.2 -6.7 ) degrees modulo 180 degrees is determined. In an alternative analysis, the value -2β_s = -0.12 +0.14 -0.16 rad is found. In both measurements, the uncertainties due to U-spin breaking effects up to 50% are included.

The analysis is based on an integrated luminosity of about $1.0 {\rm \, fb}^{-1}$ recorded with the LHCb detector. Results are reported for muons with a transverse momentum greater than $20 {\rm \, Ge\kern -0.1em V\!/}c$ and pseudorapidity between 2.0 and 4.5. The $W^{+}$ and $W^{-}$ production cross-sections are measured to be $$σ_{W^{+} \to μ^{+}ν} = 861.0 \pm 2.0 \pm 11.2 \pm 14.7 {\rm \, pb},$$ $$σ_{W^{-} \to μ^{-}\overlineν} = 675.8 \pm 1.9 \pm 8.8 \pm 11.6 {\rm \, pb},$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the luminosity determination. Cross-section ratios and differential distributions as functions of the muon pseudorapidity are also presented. The ratio of $W^{+}$ to $W^{-}$ cross-sections in the same fiducial kinematic region is determined to be $$\frac{σ_{W^{+} \to μ^{+}ν}}{σ_{W^{-} \to μ^{-}\overlineν}} = 1.274 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.009,$$ where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. Results are in good agreement with theoretical predictions at next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics.

A binned Dalitz plot analysis of $B^\pm \to D K^\pm$ decays, with $D \to K_S π^+π^-$ and $D \to K_S K^+ K^-$, is performed to measure the \CP-violating observables $x_{\pm}$ and $y_{\pm}$, which are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle $γ$. The analysis exploits a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0\invfb collected by the LHCb experiment. Measurements from CLEO-c of the variation of the strong-interaction phase of the $D$ decay over the Dalitz plot are used as inputs. The values of the parameters are found to be $x_+ = (-7.7 \pm 2.4 \pm 1.0 \pm 0.4)\times 10^{-2}$, $x_- = (2.5 \pm 2.5 \pm 1.0 \pm 0.5) \times 10^{-2}$, $y_+ = (-2.2 \pm 2.5 \pm 0.4 \pm 1.0)\times 10^{-2}$, and $y_- = (7.5 \pm 2.9 \pm 0.5 \pm 1.4) \times 10^{-2}$. The first, second, and third uncertainties are the statistical, the experimental systematic, and that associated with the precision of the strong-phase parameters. These are the most precise measurements of these observables and correspond to $γ= (62^{\,+15}_{\,-14})^\circ$, with a second solution at $γ\to γ+ 180^\circ$, and $r_B = 0.080^{+ 0.019}_{-0.021}$, where $r_B$ is the ratio between the suppressed and favoured $B$ decay amplitudes.

First observations of the rare decays $B^+\rightarrow K^+π^+π^-μ^+μ^-$ and $B^+\rightarrow φK^+μ^+μ^-$ are presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0\,{fb}^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8\mathrm{\,TeV}$. The branching fractions of the decays are \begin{eqnarray*} \mathcal{B}(B^+\rightarrow K^+π^+π^-μ^+μ^-) &=& (4.36\,^{+0.29}_{-0.27}\,\mathrm{(stat)}\pm 0.21\,\mathrm{(syst)}\pm0.18\,\mathrm{(norm)})\times10^{-7},\\ \mathcal{B}(B^+\rightarrowφK^+μ^+μ^-) &=& (0.82 \,^{+0.19}_{-0.17}\,\mathrm{(stat)}\,^{+0.10}_{-0.04}\,\mathrm{(syst)}\pm0.27\,\mathrm{(norm)}) \times10^{-7},\end{eqnarray*} where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the uncertainty on the branching fractions of the normalisation modes. A measurement of the differential branching fraction in bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system is also presented for the decay $B^+\rightarrow K^+π^+π^-μ^{+}μ^{-}$.

The direct $C\!P$ asymmetries of the decays $B^0 \rightarrow K^{*0} μ^+ μ^-$ and $B^+ \rightarrow K^{+} μ^+ μ^-$ are measured using $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0$\mbox{fb}^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. The respective control modes $B^0 \rightarrow J/ψK^{*0}$ and $B^+ \rightarrow J/ψK^{+}$ are used to account for detection and production asymmetries. The measurements are made in several intervals of $μ^+ μ^-$ invariant mass squared, with the $φ(1020)$ and charmonium resonance regions excluded. Under the hypothesis of zero $C\!P$ asymmetry in the control modes, the average values of the asymmetries are \begin{align}
{\cal A}_{C\!P}(B^0 \rightarrow K^{*0} μ^+ μ^-) &= -0.035 \pm 0.024 \pm 0.003, \cr
{\cal A}_{C\!P}(B^+ \rightarrow K^{+} μ^+ μ^-) &= \phantom{-}0.012 \pm 0.017 \pm 0.001, \end{align} where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are due to systematic effects. Both measurements are consistent with the Standard Model prediction of small $C\!P$ asymmetry in these decays.

An excess at $m(\bar{D}^0 K^-) \approx 2.86 {\rm GeV}/c^2$ is found to be an admixture of spin-1 and spin-3 resonances. Therefore the $D^*_{sJ}(2860)^-$ state previously observed in inclusive $e^+e^- \rightarrow \bar{D}^0 K^- X$ and $pp \rightarrow \bar{D}^0 K^- X$ processes consists of at least two particles. This is the first observation of a heavy flavoured spin-3 resonance, and the first time that any spin-3 particle has been seen to be produced in $B$ decays. The masses and widths of the new states and of the $D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ meson are measured, giving the most precise determinations to date.

Using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3{\rm\ fb}^{-1}$ collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, $J/ψJ/ψ$ and $J/ψψ(2S)$ pairs are observed, which have been produced in the absence of any other activity inside the LHCb acceptance that is sensitive to charged particles in the pseudorapidity ranges $(-3.5,-1.5)$ and $(1.5,5.0)$. Three-body $B^+\to p \overline p K^+$ and $B^+\to p \overline p π^+$ decays are studied using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 $fb^{-1}$ collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of $7$ and $8$ TeV. Evidence of CP violation in the $B^+\to p \overline p K^+$ decay is found in regions of the phase space, representing the first measurement of this kind for a final state containing baryons. Measurements of the forward-backward asymmetry of the light meson in the $p\overline p$ rest frame yield $A_{\mathrm{FB}}(p \overline p K^+,~m_{p\overline p}<2.85\mathrm{\,Ge\kern -0.1em V\!/}c^2)=0.495\pm0.012~(\mathrm{stat})\pm0.007~(\mathrm{syst})$ and $A_{\mathrm{FB}}(p\overline p π^+,~m_{p\overline p}<2.85\mathrm{\,Ge\kern -0.1em V\!/}c^2)=-0.409\pm0.033~(\mathrm{stat})\pm0.006~(\mathrm{syst})$. In addition, the branching fraction of the decay $B^+\to\kern 0.1em\overline{\kern -0.1emΛ}(1520)p$ is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to \kern 0.1em\overline{\kern -0.1emΛ}(1520)p)=(3.15\pm0.48~(\mathrm{stat})\pm0.07~(\mathrm{syst})\pm0.26~(\mathrm{BF}))\times 10^{-7}$, where BF denotes the uncertainty on secondary branching fractions.

Abstract:
We present a measurement of the ratio of the Bs meson lifetime, in the flavor-specific decay to $D_s^+π^-$, to that of the B0 meson. The pp collision data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1/fb, collected with the LHCb detector, at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Combining our measured value of 1.010 +/- 0.010 +/- 0.008 for this ratio with the known lifetime, we determine the flavor…

The pp collision data used correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1/fb, collected with the LHCb detector, at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Combining our measured value of 1.010 +/- 0.010 +/- 0.008 for this ratio with the known lifetime, we determine the flavor-specific Bs lifetime to be tau(Bs) = 1.535 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.014 ps, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. This is the most precise measurement to date, and is consistent with previous measurements and theoretical predictions.

A measurement of the decay time dependent CP-violating asymmetry in $B_s^0 \to φφ$ decays is presented, along with measurements of the $T$-odd triple-product asymmetries. In this decay channel, the CP-violating weak phase arises from the interference between $B_s^0$-$\bar{B}_s^0$ mixing and the loop-induced decay amplitude. Using a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0\, fb^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector, a signal yield of approximately 4000 $B_s^0 \to φφ$ decays is obtained. The CP-violating phase is measured to be ${φ_s =-0.17\pm0.15\mathrm{\,(stat)}\pm0.03\mathrm{\,(syst)}}$ rad. The triple-product asymmetries are measured to be ${A_U=-0.003\pm0.017\mathrm{\,(stat)}\pm0.006\mathrm{\,(syst)}}$ and ${A_V=-0.017\pm0.017\mathrm{\,(stat)}\pm0.006\mathrm{\,(syst)}}$. Results are consistent with the hypothesis of CP conservation.
