Game-Changing

Having traveled for the past 20 years, it’s been incredible to see how much technology has progressed to make the experience ever more enjoyable. I’m so thrilled to have found imo to purchase an eSIM cellular data plan to use while I travel abroad. I hadn’t heard of them before, so I was hesitant to try them out. However, the reviews seemed good and the prices were attractive.

Instead of paying high prices for international data passes from your home carrier, it’s much cheaper and better to instead install an eSIM with a prepaid data plan that works at high-speed and allows you to choose how much data you want to have and for how long.

Installation was straightforward and simple. Should you run out of data, it’s easy to top it off by purchasing another pass.

My only suggestions that would make the App and experience better would be to have a troubleshooting guide. For instance, I had to turn off data roaming on my eSIM plan to actually be able to use it. It would have been nice to know that the carrier I was using wasn’t actually local or based in the countries I was visiting. Also, it would be great to be warned or notified when you’re close to running out of data as once you do, you can’t top it off or buy more unless you connect to wifi. Other than that, the experience was perfect!

Working great so far

I live overseas and whenever I come back to the U.S. it’s always a big pain to figure out how I’m going to get cell/data service for my phone and usually very expensive. A friend recommended imo to me as he’d been using it with no problems as he traveled. The whole eSIM thing was completely new to me, but downloaded imo onto my phone and got a subscription. My friend helped me set it up on my phone and as soon as I landed in the U.S. I turned it on and had service. It has been a huge help to me and is saving me LOTS of money compared to past trips. I highly recommend it!

Too many annoying issues for the non tech savvy

1-Make existing ads easier. Why is there 4 different buttons and they take me to a website where it’s even more difficult to exit? Your app is used by mothers and aunties all over the world and they’re not tech savvy. If you keep it complicated they’ll leave you for another app and you’ll lose millions.
2- remove the emojis at the bottom of a message. People keep sending them my mistake when they’re holding their phone. I got hearts and kisses from random people followed by “i’m sorry” text. My mom keep sending them too and dies of embarrassment every time.
3- Everyone has too many contact numbers and it’s annoying to get a notification every time the most random person joined Imo. IDC that some random delivery man joined the app.
