An RDF Schema isn't required for valid RDF (neither is a W3C XML Schema or an XML 1.0 Document Type Definition-DTD), but it does help prevent confusion when people want to share a vocabulary.

The new version has also been enhanced with a graphical stylesheet creation tool and it implements the latest W3C XML Schema recommendations.

The W3C XML Linking Working Group, along with the W3C XML Core Working Group, began working on ways to expand the power of linking to and identifying XML fragments.
