Organised by the government-backed Special Implementation Task Force for Indians and the MIC, the 1Malaysia, People First programme reportedly provided them direct access to government departments and agencies, such as the National Registration, Social Welfare and Skills Development departments, Socso and Tekun Nasional.

In addition, Socso would also sign an MoU with the Tsukuba University on research and development of the HAL Robot Suit design.

Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Mahfuz Omar said the scheme under the Social Security Organisation (Socso) provides incentives to safeguard the welfare of drivers and their family in the event of any unintended incident while at work.

Ipoh (Malaysia), Sep.17 (ANI): For 17 years, Malay Indian pilot Gurdeep Singh contributed diligently to the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

Its chairman, Catherine Yee Kar Tin in a statement issued today, said that the formulation of such a mechanism should take into account all costs related to e-hailing services, and this included investment costs (vehicles and smartphones), operational costs (fuel, maintenance, communications), regulatory costs (related to Public Service Vehicle licences, vehicle inspections and insurance), and employee costs such as Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) and Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributions.

He suggested that Indian officers should be appointed at national registration departments, Socso offices, welfare departments and district education offices.

'With a salary of RM1,100 a month and after all the required deductions, a worker is left with only RM500 and if he has several children how is he going to live with that amount,' he told reporters at Terengganu Social Security Organisation (Socso) Hari Raya celebration here today.
