Release date- 20102012 - ORLANDO, Fla.,- Today, more than 1,100 Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] volunteers renovated facilities at nine downtown Orlando nonprofit agencies and mentored students at a technology fair in the Parramore Kidz Zone as part of the United Way's annual Day of Caring.
The technology fair was designed to motivate Parramore Kidz Zone students to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities.
The OCBA also organizes "A Day in the Life of a Judge," where Ninth Circuit judges host students from the Office of the Farmworker's Ministry and the
Parramore Kidz Zone for a special job-shadowing program.
In Orlando, Fla., the
Parramore Kidz Zone has connected 2,000 children in one neighborhood with a comprehensive network of services.

Modeled after the nationally-recognized Harlem Children's Zone in New York City, the Parramore Kidz Zone is a wide-ranging public-private partnership that connects the neighborhood's 2,000 children and their families with an array of services and resources, from early care and education and afterschool programs to health care and programs that promote family economic success.
Neighborhood-based approaches such as the Harlem Children's Zone and Orlando's
Parramore Kidz Zone create enhanced opportunities to reach and mobilize residents and to monitor tangible outcomes.
