Hospice Care Network, plus the fact that all the beds were filled (average length of stay: 13 days), prompted conversion of another six private resident care rooms beginning in April 2001 and completed six weeks later.

In addition to its most recent donation, LIREG has contributed more than $150,000 over the past four years to such charities as Schneider Children's Hospital, Haven House/Bridges Inc., Sunrise Day Camp, Ronald McDonald House of Long Island,
Hospice Care Network and Habitat for Humanity.
Since its founding in 2004, LIREG has contributed more than $81,000 to such charities as Sunrise Day Camp, Ronald McDonald House of Long Island,
Hospice Care Network and Habitat for Humanity.
In addition, LIREG presented two checks, each $25,000, to Ronald McDonald House of Long Island and
Hospice Care Network and announced plans to donate $5,000 for Hurricane Katrina relief.
The three-mile campus walk will feature special guest and advocate for
Hospice Care Network, Beatrace C.
Since its inception, the event has raised more than $1 million for the care of patients and their families by the
Hospice Care Network and is one of the organization's most successful fundraising events.
