2DOOM was a good way to try GameMaker Studio 2 and was never intended to become a full game, so this is a playable prototype (5-10min) and our final work on the game.
Know issues:
- Some collisions are weird
- HTML5 version:
- Performances are a bit low
- Arenas are sometimes empty. Pause and unpause to fix.
- Some mobs/entites goes beyond the ground
Controls:
- Keyboard (choose binding in menu)
- Arrows: move
- X/Z/W/CTRL: shoot
- C/E/SHIFT: grenade
- SPACE: jump
- 1,2,3,4: change weapon
- Gamepad
- Joystick or DPad: move
- A/Cross: jump
- X/Square: shoot
- B/Circle: grenade
- RB LB/R1 L1: change weapon

Very nice re-invention of the Doom gameplay :) Maybe the grenades could be limited in a different way, like a cooldown: it’s a bit frustrating as it is 🤔

We probably could borrow some ideas from DOOM Eternal too to make it more dynamic. Maybe someday?

This Is a GREAT game

The sprites are beautiful, the movement and animations are smooth, the backgrounds are gorgeous and the guns feel amazing.
My only complaint is I wish there was more ammo, or at least more packs around, considering how quickly you can burn through them - the pistol is just nowhere near as fun as the rest of the arsenal. I also wish there were more checkpoints or at least some additional lives like in Eternal ; getting far and having to start over again can be a bit frustrating. By the way, the shooting reaction of the zombie soldiers is also a bit too fast when you're close to them, it makes it hard to kill them without taking damage.
Still, those details are minor compared to the rest of the experience. Kudos!

I WISH WE COULD CALIBRATE THE CONTROLS AND SOUND. also arrow keys are not really that efficient in movement. also the aim should be with a mouse. other than that good content good game
