Facebook

I am a software engineer at Facebook on the Applied Machine Learning team where I work on early prototypes of our artificial intelligence technologies. I completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba in 2003, where I graduated with the highest academic standing and was awarded the gold medal in engineering and the Governor General's Academic MedalBrendan Frey invited me into his Probabilistic and Statistical Inference (PSI) research group at the University of Toronto for my graduate studies in Computer Engineering and I worked on projects in both computer vision and computational molecular biology during my doctoral program. Before joining Facebook, I was working on my own startup company, Shape Collage / Loupe.

Research Interests

I'm interested in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, augmented reality, and anything else that's cool.
