Victoria Justice And Avan Jogia Are The "Victorious" Couple You Always Wanted In "The Outcasts"

Victoria Justice and Avan Jogia have been best friends ever since they worked on Spectacular! in 2009, and on Victorious a year later. Now they're teaming up for a new project titled The Outcasts, a teen comedy that's part Freaks and Geeks, part Revenge of the Nerds. The Outcasts begs the question: What happens when the “weird” kids overtake the popular kids at school?

Justice and Jogia play Jodi and Dave, respectively — the former a nerd, the latter a slacker. Opposites soon attract, and the couple begin dating. As evidenced by the film's trailer (and pointed out by Victorious costar Matt Bennett) there is definitely plenty of “Bori” (Beck and Tori) action for fans who can't stop shipping the duo's iconic Nickelodeon characters.

When Justice and Jogia spoke with MTV News, they agreed that loyal Bori shippers will likely dig the film. “I think they might find it satisfying,” Jogia teased. Their characters run in different crowds, but their attraction is undeniable. They eventually connect at a party thrown by Whitney Bennett, played by Jessie's Peyton List. Watch Jodi and Dave's adorably awkward meet-cute in MTV News' exclusive clip here on MTV.com!

The clip, which also features Eden Sher (Sue Heck, The Middle) as Mindy, is just the tip of the iceberg. Soon, Jodi and Dave are making out in closets everywhere. Justice and Jogia both say their close friendship made intimate scenes less awkward. As Justice put it, making out is “just another day at the office.”

Victorious fans may not realize that, besides their theater class kiss on the show's pilot, Justice and Jogia actually filmed another major smooch that never made it to air. “Fans never got to see it, cause [show creator] Dan [Schneider] made the choice to edit that out and go a different direction,” Justice explained.

The dynamics of working together haven't changed much from their Nickelodeon days, although as Justice pointed out, her make-out partner “probably has more hair on his body now.” All jokes aside, though, what keeps them coming back for more projects together is the love and respect they have as friends. “We're super close and it was really cool to be able to share this experience,” Justice said.

The Outcasts premieres in select theaters and VOD on Friday, April 14.

Original Nickelodeon UK Press Release:

NICKELODEON UK & IRELAND LAUNCHES NICK AT NITE

New Programming Block Focuses on Audiences Aged 11-15 with Bespoke Branding and Programming including Daily Editorial Celebrity News Bulletin, The Scoop

London, 27th June, 2016 – Nickelodeon UK & Ireland today launches Nick at Nite, a new programming block for eleven to 15 year olds. Nick at Nite airs weekday evenings from 7pm and includes the new daily editorial bulletin, The Scoop; covering everything teen and tween audiences need to know from the worlds of celebrity, entertainment, music and style.

"Nick at Nite gives us a huge opportunity to reach older audiences that have felt underserved by the current offering on kids' networks," said Alison Bakunowich, General Manager, Nickelodeon UK & Ireland. "From the programming on offer, to the vibrant brand identity, we hope that Nick at Nite will become a destination for tweens and teens, offering them a compelling schedule that reflects their experience and interests."

Pulling from the graphic styles of social media and instant messaging, the Nick at Nite branding reflects the high-energy and immediate world of its target audience. Created by the Nickelodeon UK & Ireland Creative team, led by Senior Graphic Designer Yeen Trinh, the Nick at Night branding includes bright interstitials, menus and bumpers as well as a set of original Nickelodeon emoticon graphics.

As part of Nick at Night, Nickelodeon will unveil The Scoop, a daily entertainment news bulletin produced in-house by the Nickelodeon UK Creative team. Every weekday The Scoop's 90-second bulletins will cover celebrity, music and entertainment news as well as style and trend stories. The Scoop will be supported online with an editorial microsite, thescoop.nick.co.uk. Across social media, The Scoop and Nick at Nite will be reinforced through Nickelodeon's existing Facebook, Twitter and Instagram channels.

In addition to The Scoop, programming featured in the Nick at Nite block include the soap opera Neighbours which launched on the network in April as well as The Middle and Nickelodeon shows See Dad Run, Instant Mom and True Jackson VP with new programming being unveiled in the coming weeks. Nick at Nite also has the potential to live beyond screens with on-the ground activations and promotional partnerships. Nickelodeon UK To Start To Air "The Middle" From Monday 27th June 2016, As Part Of nick@nite UK

The online British and Irish TV guide website Digiguide is reporting the exciting news that Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK, the number one commercial kids TV network in the UK, will start to show the popular live-action comedy series The Middle, beginning with season 5, Mondays to Thursdays at 9:00pm from Monday 27th June 2016, as part of Nick UK & Eire's new nick@nite evening programming block, which will launch the same night!

Following the debut of each episode, nick@nite will encore each episode of The Middle the following evening at 9:30pm.

Middle-aged, middle class and living in the middle of the country in Orson, Indiana, Frankie Heck (series star Patricia Heaton, Everybody Loves Raymond) is a harried wife and working mother of three who uses her wry wit and sense of humor to get her family through each day intact. Having been fired as the least successful saleswoman at the town's only surviving car dealership, run by Don Ehlert (Brian Doyle-Murray, Ghostbusters II), Frankie re-evaluated her career path and is now working as a dental assistant. Her unflappable husband, Mike (series star Neil Flynn, Scrubs), is manager at the local quarry and her sardonic partner in the daily grind that is raising their average -- yes, most definitely average -- family.

Between juggling shifts and picking up fast food dinners eaten in front of the TV, Frankie and Mike raise their kids with love, humor and solid Midwestern practicality. Axl (series star Charlie McDermott, The Office), the oldest, is a jock slacker who eats them out of house and home and walks around the house in his boxers. But his lazy days are numbered as he prepares to enter college via a well-earned sports scholarship. Then there's Sue (series star Eden Sher, The O.C.), their extraordinarily ordinary teen daughter, who fails at just about everything she tries with great gusto. Now a junior in high school, she continues to navigate the raging waters of school life and, to Frankie and Mike's horror, will be driving on her own since recently passing her driver's test -- on the sixth try. And last is Brick (series star Atticus Shaffer, The Penguins of Madagascar, Frankenweenie), their quirky son, who is entering middle school. He reads constantly, whispers and "whoops" to himself and unapologetically marches to the beat of his own drummer. But through all the madness shines a loving family, and together, the Hecks are putting The Middle on the map!

The Middle was created by former Roseanne and Murphy Brown writers Eileen Heisler and DeAnn Heline of Blackie and Blondie Productions. The show is distributed by Warner Bros. Television Distribution and Blackie and Blondie Productions. The series also airs on Comedy Central in the UK & Ireland.
