BUENOS AIRES, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Instituto Cordoba confirmed their title credentials by recovering from a goal down to secure a 4-1 home win over Defensa y Justicia in Argentina's Primera Division on Saturday.
Gabriel Alanis put the visitors ahead with a sixth-minute strike before Facundo Suarez, Gregorio Rodriguez and Gonzalo Requena gave the hosts a commanding 3-1 lead at halftime.
Defensa y Justicia were reduced to 10 men when Lucas Fereira was shown a second yellow card for a bad foul in the 77th minute.
Instituto capitalized on their numerical advantage by extending their lead through Ignacio Russo's strike four minutes from time.
The result leaves Instituto fifth in the 28-team Primera Division standings, three points behind leaders Huracan, while Defensa y Justicia are 26th with eight points so far.
In other Primera Division fixtures on Saturday, Deportivo Riestra won 2-1 at home to Sarmiento, Tigre romped to a 5-1 home victory over Union Sana Fe and Huracan drew 0-0 at Argentinos Juniors. Enditem
