Mike Sinclair had a lot of medium nougat LEGO bricks lying around (probably leftovers from a gingerbread LEGO creation of his that was on display at the LEGO House in Billund), so he did what any festive-minded LEGO builder would and built an upscaled gingerbread person minifig. The “upscaled” part, of course, means it has the same proportions as a regular minifig, just a lot bigger. Such a scale allows for greater brick-built details, like the white croissants as dabs of frosting that serve as the gingerbread’s eyebrows. Greater detail in turn means greater expressiveness. All in all, they just look like a sweet gingerbread guy or gal. It’ll be a shame when it comes time to be eaten disassembled.
LEGO Star Wars 75405 Home One Starcruiser: Home One home run? [Review]
LEGO Star Wars fans of a certain vintage may remember a set named 7754 Home One Mon Calamari Star Cruiser. I certainly do – to this day it’s one of my favourite sets. But that remains the only rendition in the brick of Home One, the Rebel Alliance’s de-facto headquarters in the Return of the Jedi era. Even then, it was only the inside! In 2025, we get to see the MC80 depicted in all its bulbous glory thanks to 75405 Home One Starcruiser and its 559 pieces. Part of LEGO’s fledgling Starship Collection, it is available for pre-order now for US $69.99 | CAN $89.99 | UK £59.99, and will ship out from January 1, 2025. After that date you might also be able to find it on sites like eBay or Amazon. Will this be another entry into this writer’s pantheon of favourite sets? Read on to find out!

All year-round, we here at The Brothers Brick spend our time featuring amazing builds made by the LEGO fan community. For each day from December 1st through the 24th, we’ll be posting instructions to a custom TBB advent calendar build, one part each day. Want to participate? You can find all the parts you’ll need for the TBB Advent Event from our announcement in November. Read on to see what we’re building today!
With the walls done, what will day 15 bring?
This cute reindeer really shines (you could even say it glows)
You know Star Wars and Harry Potter and City and Friends . . . but do you recall the most festive advent calendar of them all? Deborah Higdon‘s LEGO hearts calendar, a response to LEGO’s #BuildToGive campaign, yielded this adorable little wooden reindeer on day 7. The sweet little guy (or gal) looks ready to guide Santa’s sleigh tonight—or just hang on your tree. Take a look at the builder’s Flickr page to follow along as the merry advent calendar continues till Christmas.

2024 LEGO Advent Calendars, Day 15 [Feature]
Do you hear what I hear? No, there’s no one on the rooftop… yet. It’s tiny bags crinkling inside their boxes just waiting to be unwrapped and built! Put an extra log and the fire before we continue opening all six LEGO advent calendars: Friends, Disney, City, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Spider-man!

The last of the walls come together on day 14
They come in red now?
It’s been over five years since we’ve had a Captain America on the big screen, but that changes next February with Brave New World giving Sam Wilson’s Cap’-with-wings the spotlight. TheMarkStudios 84 gets the hype train rolling with a dynamic tribute to the promised face-off between Captain America and the Red Hulk. Forget big fig – this Red Hulk is sized for epic smashing! I love the mix of up-scaled bricks bursting from the wall to match the super-sized Hulk hand. The scene captures the energy of a classic Silver Age Marvel comic and pairs nicely with the similarly explosive new MARVEL Logo set.
To see how this Avenger action diorama was assembled, the builder shares a step-by-step video.
LEGO Star Wars 75404 Acclamator-Class Assault Ship: a classy ship of great acclaim [Review]
Right now, one of the biggest LEGO Star Wars sets you can buy – one of the biggest LEGO sets full stop, in fact – is the colossal 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser. But what to do if you don’t have the funds or space to make such an investment, yet still want a brick-built Republic capital ship? Well, for a fraction of the footprint, you could pick up the 450-piece 75404 Acclamator-Class Assault Ship starting from next January 1! This midi-scale vessel is a fraction of the price, too, with pre-orders open now for US $49.99 | CAN $64.99 | UK £44.99 (oh, and it might show up on eBay or Amazon after its release date). But just because it’s cheaper doesn’t automatically make it a good deal – read on, and see if we think it is so…
