CM Punk is not a fan of The Beatles, calling the beloved Liverpudlian band a "100% overrated, phoney boyband."

The WWE star's comments came in a video uploaded to Instagram by Jackie Redmond. The Raw interviewer was doing the backstage rounds, asking various WWE personalities to name something universally loved that they dislike, when Punk and NXT ring announcer Alicia Taylor went after the 'Fab Four.'

When Punk answered "The Beatles", a disbelieving Redmond went to Taylor for support. "I don't like The Beatles," Alicia responded. "I was shocked when I found someone else who doesn't like The Beatles."

Jackie asked Punk to explain himself. "Overrated, 100% overrated," said 'The Voice of the Voiceless'. "A phoney boyband that was manufactured and went through bulls*** phases. 'Oh, we're hippies now. We're psychedelic now!'. F*** you Sergeant Pepper!"

Punk remains one of the foremost button-pushers in wrestling, though he may have just opened the door for Seth Rollins' WrestleMania 41 ring entrance to feature the full cast of characters from the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover. As confirmed on last week's SmackDown, Punk, Rollins, and Roman Reigns will contest a Triple Threat in the main event of WrestleMania 41's first night (19 April).

Redmond's answer to her own question was Nutella. Jimmy Uso answered "twins!" in front of brother Jey, while Raw General Manager Adam Pearce went for "professional wrestlers." That seems suboptimal in Pearce's kayfabe line of work.

Unsurprisingly, given the level of devotion amongst The Beatles' fanbase, Punk has received a bunch of pushback for his comments.
