The Laotian Community in exile in France
has learned with great sadness
and deep emotion the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New
York and the Pentagon in Washington.
It joins the mourning of the American families of any origine.
To testify its compassion and for the rest of the victims, a religious
ceremony " sak anicha ", according to the rites of Hinayana Buddhism,
was organized Sunday September 16 2001 within the pagoda Vat
Vlouvanaram in Chamigny (Seine & Marne, France) under the direction of
Venerable Chanthi Souphanthavong and in the presence of Their Royal
Highnesses the Prince Regent Sauryavong Savang and Princess Dalavan,
the Heir to the throne Prince Soulivong SAVANG.
After the religious office, a solemn homage
was paid to the victims by a
salute to the American, Laotian and French flags, and by a three minutes
of silence observation.
The serious event that we live can generate overflows: a reflexion to
make for us all laotians in exile, who love freedom, and are ready to
condemn violence, intolerance, totalitarianism, dictatorship in all
their forms.
