Yoko Ono: I think that every artistic effort: music or art or films or any of… well, even a florist… Anybody who is participating in the Peace Industry is making the world better. Anybody who is participating in the War Industry is making the world worse. And so we just have to not be too critical about each other in the Peace Industry and just get together, be gentle to each other.. be gentle and loving to each other and try to create a big Peace Industry and make it bigger than the War Industry. WISH TREE FOR YOKO ONO

To celebrate Yoko Ono’s birthday on 18 February, Sean Ono Lennon made a virtual ‘Wish Tree’ for people all over the world to post their wishes online and (in association with One Tree Planted) plant real trees in Yoko’s honor.
We hope to gather as many wishes and plant as many trees as possible to honor this incredible woman.
Sean Ono Lennon says: “My mother is a real life tree hugger. If we ever walk past a tree of any significance she inevitably stops and hugs the tree with incredible enthusiasm. Since 9 is a very special number in her Universe, I thought we should do something special for her 90th birthday. So I made a virtual Wish Tree, like the Wish Trees she often makes for museums and galleries. I wanted to give the whole world an opportunity to make a wish for her, and plant a tree in her honor. Make a wish. Plant a tree. Wish Yoko a happy birthday. It’s that simple.”

‘Wish Tree for Yoko Ono’ has been realised by James Swindells and Loud Beings for Sean Ono Lennon and was awarded the 2024 Webby Award for Website and Mobile Site Technical Achievement.
YOKO ONO: MUSIC OF THE MIND
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago is thrilled to announce Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind, opening October 2025. The MCA is the exclusive US venue for this comprehensive solo exhibition dedicated to artist, musician, and activist Yoko Ono (b. 1933, Tokyo, Japan; lives in New York, NY). Traveling from Tate Modern in London, where it enjoyed record attendance, and in close collaboration with Ono’s studio, this groundbreaking retrospective covers seventy years of Ono’s trailblazing career, with over 200 works including participatory instruction pieces and scores, installations, a curated music room, films, music and photography, and archival materials. The exhibition reveals Ono’s innovative approach to language, art and participation that continues to speak to the present moment.

Dear Friends,
Nutopia is a country that exists in all of us. John and I created this imaginary world. We called a press conference and produced a white handkerchief from our pockets and said “This is a flag to Surrender to Peace.” Not Fight for Peace, but “Surrender” to Peace was the important bit. All of us represent Nutopia. Let’s all wave the white flag or handkerchief in our minds and say, ” I love all of me” and have lots of fun. Because we deserve it. Each one of us.
John had said that we were all Ambassadors of Nutopia. And so we are. When you come to our apartment, you’ll see that there is a gold plaque on the kitchen door, that says Nutopian Embassy. John put it there. Strangely enough, now friends just like to come in from that door, and not the front door. It seems the plaque made the kitchen door our front door.
Ambassadors of Nutopia – Think Peace, Act Peace, Spread Peace and let people know to IMAGINE PEACE. Pretty soon, the whole world will realize that we all belong to Nutopia. Together, we will let the other planets know that that’s what’s happening here on our planet – that we are all together, and living life in Peace.
