The Cuban Health System is an inspiring example for many nations for its free and preventive approach, founded on a primary care network that provides comprehensive care to the entire population, and has the community as its main center of action.
This model, recognized by health leaders worldwide as the greatest strength of the system, stands out for its impact on the achievement of indicators such as low infant mortality rate, disease prevention and control of pandemics such as COVID-19.
It is precisely to discuss public health management models at global, regional and local levels; the strengthening of health systems in the post-COVID-19 stage, and public policies focused on health, that the 5th Cuba Health 2025 International Convention will be held in Havana from today until April 25.
With emphasis on the adoption of policies that contribute to consolidate the paradigm of "One Health" as an integral health strategy. It will be associated with the 15th Health for All Trade Fair and the ii International Medical Tourism and Wellness Fair.
CubaHealth 2025 will have around 3,000 participants from more than 50 countries, which is undoubtedly a sign of support for the Cuban Health System and medical collaboration, reaffirming that neither one nor a thousand discrediting campaigns can erase the mark of solidarity and love left by the doctors of the largest of the Antilles around the world.
The experiences of participants from countries of all continents, as well as the authoritative voice of health leaders and experts, will contribute to the search for consensus on the main challenges of global health as a guarantee for access and equity in health.
The convention's general program includes high-level segments with the participation of ministers from Bahamas, Honduras, Zimbabwe, Congo, Haiti, South Africa, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Brazil, Equatorial Guinea, Libya and Djibouti.
For the international community, Cuba Salud means the possibility of promoting programs that guarantee free and equitable access to what is a universal right. All this, based on the strengthening of international cooperation, to provide health services to those who need them most. It is also a space for sharing knowledge and scientific innovation.
