Detection of π+ππ+π atoms with the DIRAC spectrometer at CERN / DIRAC Collaboration
The goal of the DIRAC experiment at CERN is to measure with high precision the lifetime of the π+ππ+π atom (A2πA2π), which is of order 3×10153×1015 s, and thus to determine the s-wave ππππ-scattering lengths difference |a0a2||a0a2|. Investigation of K+KK+K pairs in the effective mass region near 2mK2mK / DIRAC Collaboration
The DIRAC experiment at CERN investigated in the reaction p(24 GeV/c)+Nip(24 GeV/c)+Ni the particle pairs K+K,π+πK+K,π+π and pˉpp¯p with relative momentum QQ in the pair system less than 100 MeV/c. Because of background influence studies, DIRAC explored three subsamples of K+KK+K pairs, obtained by subtracting -- using time-of-flight (TOF) technique -- background from initial QQ distributions with K+KK+K sample fractions more than 70%, 50% and 30%. Determination of ππππ scattering lengths from measurement of π+ππ+π atom lifetime / PS212 collaboration
The DIRAC experiment at CERN has achieved a sizeable production of π+ππ+π atoms and has significantly improved the precision on its lifetime determination. From a sample of 21227 atomic pairs, a 4% measurement of the S-wave ππππ scattering length difference |a0a2|=(.0.2533+0.00800.0078|stat.+0.00780.0073|syst)M1π+|a0a2|=(.0.2533+0.00800.0078|stat.+0.00780.0073|syst)M1π+ has been attained, providing an important test of Chiral Perturbation Theory..

First observation of long-lived π+ππ+π atoms / DIRAC Collaboration
After observing and investigating the double-exotic π+ππ+π atom with the ground state lifetime ττ of about 3×10153×1015~s, the upgraded DIRAC experiment at the CERN PS accelerator observes for the first time long-lived states of the same atom with lifetimes of about 10111011~s and more. The number of characteristic pion pairs resulting from the breakup (ionisation) of long-lived π+ππ+π atoms amounts to 436±61436±61, corresponding to a signal-to-error ratio of better than 7 standard deviations. Measurement of the πKπK atom lifetime and the πKπK scattering length / DIRAC Collaboration
After having announced the statistically significant observation (5.6~σσ) of the new exotic πKπK atom, the DIRAC experiment at the CERN proton synchrotron presents the measurement of the corresponding atom lifetime, based on the full πKπK data sample: τ=(5.5+5.02.8)1015sτ=(5.5+5.02.8)1015s. By means of a precise relation (<1%<1%) between atom lifetime and scattering length, the following value for the S-wave isospin-odd πKπK scattering length a0 = 13(a1/2a3/2)a0 = 13(a1/2a3/2) has been derived: |a0|=(0.072+0.0310.020)M1πa0=(0.072+0.0310.020)M1π..

First πKπK atom lifetime and πKπK scattering length measurements / DIRAC Collaboration
The results of a search for hydrogen-like atoms consisting of πK±πK± mesons are presented. Evidence for πKπK atom production by 24 GeV/c protons from CERN PS interacting with a nickel target has been seen in terms of characteristic πKπK pairs from their breakup in the same target (178±49178±49) and from Coulomb final state interaction (653±42653±42).
