Neutron total cross sections of 197 Au and nat Ta have been measured at the nELBE photoneutron source in the energy range from 0.1 - 10 MeV with a statistical uncertainty of up to 2 % and a total systematic uncertainty of 1 %. This facility is optimized for the fast neutron energy range and combines an excellent t ime structure of the neutron pulses (electron bunch width 5 ps) with a short flight path of 7 m. [...]

Photoexcitation of $^{76}$Ge
/ Schwengner, R. (HZDR, Dresden) ; Massarczyk, R. (Los Alamos) ; Schmidt, K. (HZDR, Dresden) ; Zuber, K. (Dresden, Tech. U.) ; Beyer, R. (HZDR, Dresden) ; Bemmerer, D. (HZDR, Dresden) ; Hammer, S. (HZDR, Dresden) ; Hartmann, A. (HZDR, Dresden) ; Hensel, T. (HZDR, Dresden ; Dresden, Tech. U.) ; Hoffmann, H.F. (HZDR, Dresden ; Dresden, Tech. U.) et al.
The dipole strength of the nuclide $^{76}$Ge was studied in photon-scattering experiments using bremsstrahlung produced with electron beams of energies of 7.8 and 12.3 MeV at the $\gamma$ELBE facility. We identified 210 levels up to an excitation energy of 9.4 MeV and assigned spin $J$ = 1 to most of them. [...]

EXILL—a high-efficiency, high-resolution setup for $\gamma$-spectroscopy at an intense cold neutron beam facility
/ Jentschel, M (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Blanc, A (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; de France, G (GANIL) ; Köster, U (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Leoni, S (Milan U.) ; Mutti, P (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Simpson, G (LPSC, Grenoble) ; Soldner, T (Laue-Langevin Inst.) ; Ur, C (Padua U. ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Urban, W (Laue-Langevin Inst. ; Warsaw U.) et al.
In the EXILL campaign a highly efficient array of high purity germanium (HPGe) detectors was operated at the cold neutron beam facility PF1B of the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL) to carry out nuclear structure studies, via measurements of γ-rays following neutron-induced capture and fission reactions. The setup consisted of a collimation system producing a pencil beam with a thermal capture equivalent flux of about 10(8) n s(−)(1)cm(−)(2) at the target position and negligible neutron halo. [...]

Notre Dame (main)) ; Bemmerer, D (HZDR, Dresden) ; Beyer, R (HZDR, Dresden ; Dresden, Tech. U.) ; Butterling, M (HZDR, Dresden ; Dresden, Tech. U.) ; Hannaske, R (HZDR, Dresden ; Dresden, Tech. Dipole strength functions in the chain of xenon isotopes are analyzed on the basis of photon-scatterde experiments with bremsstrahlung at the ELBE facility in Dresden, Germany, and at the HI S facility in Durham, North Carolina, USA. The evolution of dipole strength with neutron excess and nuclear deformation is studied..
