Silicon carbide (SiC) is a wide bandgap semiconductor with outstanding properties that make it especially appropriate for radiation monitoring in radiation harsh environments and for elevated temperature operation. In this work, radiation effects in electron-, neutron-, and proton-irradiated 4H-SiC p-n junction diodes are investigated by means of electrical characterization, including current–voltage characteristics measured at different temperatures ranging from −50 °C to +200°C. Studies and Mitigation of Collective Effects in FCC-ee

In order to achieve a high luminosity in the future electron-positron circular collider (FCC-ee), very intense multi-bunch colliding beams should have nanometer scale transverse beam sizes at the collision points. For this purpose the emittances of the colliding beams are chosen to be very small, comparable to those of the modern synchrotron light sources, while the stored beam currents should be close to the best values achieved in the last generation of particle factories. RF Voltage Calibration Using Phase Space Tomography in the CERN SPS
/ Quartullo, Danilo (CERN) ; Albright, Simon (CERN) ; Damerau, Heiko (CERN) ; Lasheen, Alexandre (CERN) ; Papotti, Giulia (CERN) ; Zisou, Charilaos (CERN)
Voltage calibration using longitudinal phase-space tomography is a purely beam-based technique to determine the effective RF voltage experienced by a bunch. It was applied in the SPS, separately to each of its six accelerating travelling wave structures. [...]

A 1$\mu$W Radiation-Hard Front-End in a 0.18-$\mu$m CMOS Process for the MALTA2 Monolithic Sensor
/ Piro, F (CERN ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Allport, P (Birmingham U.) ; Asensi, I (CERN) ; Berdalovic, I (CERN ; U. Zagreb (main)) ; Bortoletto, D (Oxford U.) ; Buttar, C (Glasgow U.) ; Cardella, R (CERN ; U. Geneva (main)) ; Charbon, E (Montreal, Ecole Polytechnique) ; Dachs, F (CERN) ; Dao, V (CERN) et al.
In this article, a low-power, radiation-hard front-end circuit for monolithic pixel sensors, designed to meet the requirements of low noise and low pixel-to-pixel variability, the key features to achieve high detection efficiencies, is presented. The sensor features a small collection electrode to achieve a small capacitance (<5 fF) and allows full CMOS in-pixel circuitry. [...]

Estimates of Collective Effects for the FCC-$e^+e^-$ Pre-Booster Ring
/ Etisken, Ozgur (CERN) ; Antoniou, Fanouria (CERN) ; Çiftçi, Abbas Kenan (Izmir U. Economics, Izmir) ; Oide, Katsunobu (CERN ; KEK, Tsukuba) ; Papaphilippou, Yannis (CERN) ; Zimmermann, Frank (CERN)
The FCC-e⁺e⁻ injector complex needs to produce and to transport high-intensity e⁺ and e⁻ beams at a fast repetition rate for topping up the collider at its collision energy. Two different options are under consideration as pre-accelerator before the bunches are transferred to the high-energy booster: either using the existing SPS machine or designing a completely new ring. Multiplicity dependencies of midrapidity transverse momentum spectra of identified charged particles in $p+p$ collisions at $(s)^{1/2}$ = 13 TeV at LHC
/ Olimov, Khusniddin K (Tashkent, FTI) ; Liu, Fu-Hu (Shanxi U.) ; Musaev, Kobil A (Tashkent, FTI) ; Olimov, Kosim (Tashkent, FTI) ; Tukhtaev, Boburbek J (Tashkent, FTI) ; Yuldashev, Bekhzod S (Tashkent, IYF) ; Saidkhanov, Nasir Sh (Tashkent, FTI) ; Umarov, Kobil I (Tashkent, FTI) ; Gulamov, Kadyr G (Tashkent, FTI)
Multiplicity dependencies of midrapidity $p_t$ spectra of identified charged particles in inelastic $p+p$ collisions at $(s)^{1/2} = $13 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), measured by ALICE Collaboration, have been analyzed. The combined minimum $χ^2$ fits with thermodynamically consistent Tsallis function as well as Hagedorn function with the embedded transverse flow describe quite satisfactorily the $p_t$ spectra of particles in the studied 10 different classes of charged-particle multiplicity in inelastic $p+p$ collisions at $(s)^{1/2} = $13 TeV. MALTA: a CMOS pixel sensor with asynchronous readout for the ATLAS High-Luminosity upgrade

Zagreb (main)) ; Argemi, Lluis Simon (Glasgow U.) ; Cardella, Roberto (CERN) ; Dachs, Florian (CERN) ; Dao, Valerio (CERN) ; Flores Sanz de Acedo, Leyre (CERN) ; Hemperek, Tomasz (Bonn U.) ; Hiti, Bojan (Stefan Inst., Ljubljana) ; Kugathasan, Thanushan (CERN) ; Marin Tobon, Cesar Augusto (CERN) et al.
Radiation hard silicon sensors are required for the upgrade of the ATLAS tracking detector for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) at CERN. A process modification in a standard 0.18 μm CMOS imaging technology combines small, low-capacitance electrodes (~2 fF for the sensor) with a fully depleted active sensor volume [...]

Effect of Head-Tail Mode Diffusion due to Synchrotron Radiation on Transverse Coupled-Bunch Instabilities with Harmonic-Cavity-Lengthened Bunches
/ Cullinan, F J (Lund U., MAX-lab ; www.maxiv.lu.se) ; Tavares, P F (Lund U., MAX-lab) ; Nagaoka, R (SOLEIL, Saint-Aubin) ; Skripka, G (CERN)
Many present and future storage-ring-based light sources make use of cavities at a harmonic of the main RF to lengthen the electron bunches. This reduces Touschek and intrabeam scattering to improve the beam lifetime and transverse emittances respectively. [...]
