The mechanism of antiproton-nucleus annihilation at rest is not fully understood, despite substantial previous experimental and theoretical work. In this study we used slow extracted, sub-keV antiprotons from the ASACUSA apparatus at CERN to measure the charged particle multiplicities and their energy deposits from antiproton annihilations at rest on three different nuclei: carbon, molybdenum and gold. Overview of Recent Results from the SND Experiment at the VEPP-2000 Collider
/ SND Collaboration
Recent results on $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation to hadrons below 2 GeV obtained at the SND experiment at the VEPP-2000 collider are presented. In particular, we discuss measurements of the $e^{+}e^{-}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ and $e^{+}e^{-}\to n\bar{n}$ cross sections, and study of the processes $e^{+}e^{-}\to\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{0}$, $K^{+}K^{-}\pi^{0}$, $\eta\pi^{0}\gamma$, $\eta\eta\gamma$, $\omega\pi^{0}$, and $p\bar{p}$..

Some experimental limits on the annihilation cross sections $σ_{\textrm{ann}}$ of antiprotons on carbon, palladium, and platinum targets were determined at the previously unexplored kinetic energy region E≈125 keV. Information on $σ_{\textrm{ann}}$ at such low antiproton energies is important in understanding the dynamics of the annihilation process, and provides useful data for models that attempt to describe the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the universe by assuming the existence of islands of antimatter concentration..

The ASACUSA collaboration aims at measuring the ground state hyperfine splitting of antihydrogen for probing fundamental symmetries. A cryogenic trap for mixing antiprotons and positrons serves as an antihydrogen source for in-flight spectroscopy. [...]

Systematic measurements of the annihilation cross sections of low energy antinucleons were performed at CERN in the 80's and 90's. However the antiproton data on medium-heavy and heavy nuclear targets are scarce. [...]

The antiproton annihilation cross section at 5.3 MeV of kinetic energy on different nuclei (Ni, Sn, Pt) has been recently measured by the ASACUSA Collaboration at the CERN Antiproton Decelerator. A new experiment with a different apparatus has been performed on a carbon target in order to get a more precise measurement for a stringent comparison with the antineutron data. [...]

Characterization of GigaRad Total Ionizing Dose and Annealing Effects on 28-nm Bulk MOSFETs

This paper investigates the radiation tolerance of 28-nm bulk n and pMOSFETs up to 1 Grad of total ionizing dose (TID). The radiation effects on this commercial 28-nm bulk CMOS process demonstrate a strong geometry dependence as a result of the complex interplay of oxide and interface charge trapping relevant to the gate-related dielectrics and the shallow trench isolation.
