A Roadmap for Integrating Sustainability into Software Engineering Education / Moreira, Ana (Nova U., Lisboa) ; Lago, Patricia (Vrije U., Amsterdam) ; Heldal, Rogardt (U. Bergen (main)) ; Betz, Stefanie (Furtwangen U.) ; Brooks, Ian (West England U.) ; Capilla, Rafael (Rey Juan Carlos U., Madrid) ; Coroamă, Vlad Constantin ; Duboc, Leticia (Ramon Llull U., Barcelona) ; Fernandes, João Paulo (New York U., Abu Dhabi) ; Leifler, Ola (Linkoping U.) et al.
The world faces escalating crises: record-breaking temperatures, widespread fires, severe flooding, increased oceanic microplastics, and unequal resource distribution. Academia introduces courses around sustainability to meet the new demand, but software engineering education lags behind. [...]

Development of a ReBCO Non/Metal-Insulated 40 T Solenoid for a Muon Collider / Bordini, B (CERN) ; Accettura, C (CERN) ; Bertarelli, A (CERN) ; Bottura, L (CERN) ; Dudarev, A (CERN) ; Hafiz, M A (CERN) ; Kolehmainen, A (CERN) ; Mulder, T (CERN) ; Rinaldoni, D (CERN) ; Sanda, F (CERN) et al.
In the quest to explore the fundamental properties of particles at the energy frontier, the International Muon Collider Collaboration (IMCC) has made significant progress in the conceptual design study of a Muon Collider (MC). Central to this effort is the development of the various MC's magnet systems, particularly the Ultra-High-Field (UHF) solenoids needed for the MC final cooling stage. [...]

The Ethernet Readout of the DUNE DAQ System / Sipos, Roland (CERN) /DUNE Collaboration
In 2023, the deep underground neutrino experiment (DUNE) data acquisition (DAQ) system transitioned to a new Ethernet-based readout. This required an extension to the modular readout subsystem: in particular, a new I/O device library was implemented, interfacing with the detector electronics; a firmware block was provided by the DAQ team to the electronics experts for the implementation of the data formatting and transmission; and the trigger primitive generation (TPG) software in the readout system was adapted to the modified data format. [...]

Evaluation of SmartNIC Devices for Use in Trigger and Data Acquisition Systems / Berg, Andreas Klavenes (CERN ; Norwegian U. Sci. Tech.) ; Abed Abud, Adam (CERN) ; Gamberini, Enrico (CERN) ; Poulsen, Anders Hjelm (Unlisted, NL) ; Khartchenko, Evgueny (Unlisted, UK) ; Lehmann Miotto, Giovanna (CERN) ; McKenzie, Graham (Altera, UK) ; Sipos, Roland (CERN) ; Zheng, Jeff (Unlisted, IL)
This article presents an evaluation of SmartNIC devices in the context of Trigger and Data AcQuisition (TDAQ) systems. SmartNIC devices represent an emerging technology whose aim is to offload network tasks and infrastructure control plane software from the CPU. [...]
