Shielded Pair Method for Beam Screen Surface Resistance Measurement at Cryogenic Temperature / Brunner, Kristóf (CERN ; Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; Krkotić, Patrick (CERN) ; Calatroni, Sergio (CERN) ; Barna, Dániel (Wigner RCP, Budapest)
The shielded pair resonator method is a useful tool in the measurement of accelerator components, such as the beam screens used in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the High-Luminosity (HL) LHC, or future accelerators. It can measure the resistive losses at several frequency points by separating the resistive losses on the sample from other sources of losses. [...]

Estimation of the thermal radiation induced desorption yield for hydrogen and helium at liquid helium temperatures / Jenninger, Berthold (CERN) ; Bez, Elena (CERN) ; Stöltzel, Anke (CERN) ; Rooijakkers, Fleur (CERN) ; Tiirinen, Eino (CERN)
Infrared radiation induced desorption of adsorbed molecules from cryogenic surfaces can lead to potentially detrimental pressure limitation in cryogenic UHV/XHV systems. For a sub-monolayer coverage, we determined the corresponding yields for hydrogen and helium exposed to room temperature radiation to be in the order of 1·10−4 and 0.02 m2(W·s)−1 respectively. [...]

The goal of the High Luminosity-Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) Inner Triplet (IT) String test, is to validate the assembly and connection procedures and tools required for its construction, to assess the collective behavior of the superconducting magnet chain in conditions as close as possible to those of their operation in the HL-LHC and to provide a training opportunity for the equipment teams for their work in the LHC tunnel. The IT String includes the systems required for operation at nominal conditions, such as the cryogenics, powering and quench protection systems. [...]

HL-LHC magnet production: building a complex planning to identify bottlenecks / Fleury, Sarah (CERN) ; Todesco, Ezio (CERN) ; Barberan Marin, Maria (CERN) ; Bernardini, Marzia (CERN)
The High-Luminosity LHC project aims to enhance the integrated luminosity of the LHC machine by a factor of 10, by upgrading various components located in the LHC tunnel just before the collision points, with cutting-edge technologies. Among these innovations are the new superconducting magnets equipped with a combination of $Nb-Ti$ and $Nb_3Sn$. [...]

Schedule management for large scale projects: the example of HL-LHC at CERN / Vergara Fernandez, Estrella (CERN) ; Barberan Marin, Maria (CERN) ; Bernardini, Marzia (CERN) ; Fleury, Sarah (CERN)
The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) project seeks to significantly enhance the performance of the LHC to deliver ten times more data to the LHC Experiments. The project relies on cutting-edge systems and technologies deployed in the new facilities constructed to the HL-LHC requisites and replacing large existing equipment and systems in the LHC tunnel. Cryogenic thermosiphon used for indirect cooling of superconducting magnets / Głuchowska, Weronika (CERN ; Wroclaw Tech. U.) ; Banaszkiewicz, Tomasz (Wroclaw Tech. U.) ; Mentink, Matthias (CERN) ; Cure, Benoit (CERN) ; Dudarev, Alexey (CERN) ; Singh, Shuvay (CERN)
A thermosiphon is a thermodynamic phenomenon that facilitates the circulation of cryogen within a cooling system, relying solely on gravitational forces and phase change. This mechanism leverages the variations in the density of the cryogenic fluid throughout the entire cooling loop, creating a pressure gradient. [...]
