High-energy hadron colliders with multi-TeV centre-of-mass energies require high-field superconducting magnets. Examples include the large hadron collider (LHC) and its high-luminosity upgrade (HL-LHC), as well as future projects such as the future circular collider (FCC-hh) and super proton–proton collider (SPPC). Features and performances of the DUNE Far Detectors Photon Detection System
/ Brizzolari, Claudia (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca)
/DUNE Collaboration
The Photon Detection Systems of the first two Liquid Argon Time Projection Chambers (LArTPCs) of the DUNE Far Detector exploit the Horizontal and Vertical Drift technologies and are composed of 6000 and 672 photon detection units respectively, named X-Arapuca. The Photon Detection Systems will complement and improve the calorimetry and vertex reconstruction for beam events and the prompt light detection will enable the trigger for non-beam events, such as Supernova Neutrino Bursts. Cryogenic Current Comparators (CCC) are ultrasensitive DC-Beam Transformers based on superconducting SQUID technology. With the aim to provide a robust and high resolution intensity measurement for application at FAIR and CERN machines, numerous steps of optimization were carried out over the last years by a collaboration of institutes specialized on the various subtopics. Conceptual Design of BOND: A 14 T Dipole for FCC-Hh
/ Perez, Juan Carlos (CERN) ; Bellini, Gloria (CERN) ; Mora, Elena Fernandez (CERN) ; Ferradas Troitino, Jose (CERN) ; Haziot, Ariel (CERN) ; Izquierdo Bermudez, Susana (CERN) ; Todesco, Ezio (CERN)
High Field Nb$_{3}$Sn superconducting magnets are a core technology to increase the collision energy of particle accelerators beyond that of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In the framework of the conceptual design of a Future Circular Collider (FCC), or an energy upgrade of the LHC, different magnet layouts are being considered within the so-called High Field Magnet program. Electromechanical Design of Nb3Sn Stress Managed Asymmetric Common-Coils
/ Araujo, D (PSI, Villigen) ; Auchmann, B (PSI, Villigen ; CERN) ; Brem, A (PSI, Villigen) ; Michlmayr, T (PSI, Villigen) ; Haziot, A (CERN) ; Ravaioli, E (CERN)
Stress-management of Nb3Sn coils offers a promising approach for high-field magnets by reducing conductor stress. The combination of stress-management and the common-coils magnet type simplifies manufacturing processes, such as utilizing the coil former in reaction and impregnation tooling. [...]
