Model dependence of the $\pi_1(1600)\to\rho(770)\pi$ signal / Krinner, Fabian (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) /COMPASS Collaboration
Using the large C OMPASS data set on diffractive three pion production, we investigate the contradictory observations reported by previous experiments on the existence of a resonance signal in the spin-exotic wave with spin, parity and charge conjugation quantum numbers 1−+ . We identify a strong dependence of the result on the employed analysis model as the cause and derive a model tuned to minimize these effects. [...]

Analysis of the diffractively produced $\pi^- \pi^- \pi^+$ final state at COMPASS / Kaspar, Florian Markus (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Gerassimov, Sergei (Munich, Tech. U.) /COMPASS Collaboration
The COMPASS experiment at CERN collected a large sample of diffractively produced $π ^−π^ −π^ +$ events. The data contain contributions from light-meson resonances with the quantum numbers of πJ - and aJ -like states. [...]

Light isovector resonances in $\pi^- p \to \pi^-\pi^-\pi^+ p$ at 190 GeV/${\it c}$ / COMPASS Collaboration
We have performed the most comprehensive resonance-model fit of $\pi^-\pi^-\pi^+$ states using the results of our previously published partial-wave analysis (PWA) of a large data set of diffractive-dissociation events from the reaction $\pi^- + p \to \pi^-\pi^-\pi^+ + p_\text{recoil}$ with a 190 GeV/$c$ pion beam. The PWA results, which were obtained in 100 bins of three-pion mass, $0.5 < m_{3\pi} < 2.5$ GeV/$c^2$, and simultaneously in 11 bins of the reduced four-momentum transfer squared, $0.1 < t' < 1.0$ $($GeV$/c)^2$, are subjected to a resonance-model fit using Breit-Wigner amplitudes to simultaneously describe a subset of 14 selected waves using 11 isovector light-meson states with $J^{PC} = 0^{-+}$, $1^{++}$, $2^{++}$, $2^{-+}$, $4^{++}$, and spin-exotic $1^{-+}$ quantum numbers. Study of charmonium production in ${b}$-hadron decays and first evidence for the decay ${{{B}} ^0_{{s}}} \!\rightarrow \phi \phi \phi $ / LHCb Collaboration
Using decays to $\phi$-meson pairs, the inclusive production of charmonium states in $b$-hadron decays is studied with $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3.0fb^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. Denoting by $B_C\equiv B(b\to CX)\times B(C\to\phi\phi)$ the inclusive branching fraction of a $b$ hadron to a charmonium state $C$ that decays into a pair of $\phi$ mesons, ratios $R^{C1}_{C2}\equiv B_{C1}/B_{C2}$ are determined as $R^{\chi_{c0}}_{\eta_c(1S)}=0.147\pm0.023\pm0.011$, $R^{\chi_{c1}}_{\eta_c (1S)}=0.073\pm0.016\pm0.006$, $R^{\chi_{c2}}_{\eta_c (1S)}=0.081\pm0.013\pm0.005$, $R^{\chi_{c1}}_{\chi_{c0}}=0.50\pm0.11\pm0.01$, $R^{\chi_{c2}}_{\chi_{c0}}=0.56\pm0.10\pm0.01$ and $R^{\eta_c (2S)}_{\eta_c(1S)}=0.040\pm0.011\pm0.004$. Observation of the $B^+ \to D^{*-}K^+\pi^+$ decay / LHCb Collaboration
The $B^+ \to D^{*-}K^+\pi^+$ decay potentially provides an excellent way to investigate charm meson spectroscopy. The decay is searched for in a sample of proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3~{\rm fb}^{-1}$. Resonance Production and $\pi\pi$ S-wave in $\pi^- + p \rightarrow \pi^- \pi^- \pi^+ + p_{recoil}$ at 190 GeV/c / COMPASS collaboration
The COMPASS collaboration has collected the currently largest data set on diffractively produced $\pi^-\pi^-\pi^+$ final states using a negative pion beam of 190 GeV/c momentum impinging on a stationary proton target. This data set allows for a systematic partial-wave analysis in 100 bins of three-pion mass, $0.5 < m_{3\pi} < 2.5$ GeV/c$^2$ , and in 11 bins of the reduced four-momentum transfer squared, $0.1 < t < 1.0$ (GeV/c)$^2$ . Observation of a new narrow axial-vector meson $a_1(1420)$ / COMPASS collaboration
The COMPASS collaboration at CERN has measured diffractive dissociation of 190 GeV$/c$ pions into the $\pi^-\pi^-\pi^+$ final state using a stationary hydrogen target. A partial-wave analysis (PWA) was performed in bins of $3\pi$ mass and four-momentum transfer using the isobar model and the so far largest PWA model consisting of 88~waves. [...]
