RadMon: a versatile, integrated radiation monitoring system for accelerators and experiments electronics at CERN
/ Fiore, S (CERN) ; Ferraro, R (CERN) ; Zimmaro, A (CERN) ; Danzeca, S (CERN)
The RadMon system at CERN is a radiation monitoring solution designed for the accelerator complex and experimental areas, providing real-time, precise measurement of radiation levels impacting electronics. This paper presents the capabilities of the RadMon device, which measures Total Ionizing Dose (TID), Displacement Damage (DD) in silicon, High Energy Hadrons (HEH), and thermal neutron fluence. [...]

/ Manera, R (ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Ballabriga, R (CERN) ; Mauricio, J (ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Kaplon, J (CERN) ; Paterno, A (CERN) ; Bandi, F (CERN) ; Gómez, S (Barcelona, Polytechnic U. ; ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Pulli, A (CERN) ; Portero, S (ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Silva, J (ICC, Barcelona U.) et al.
This work presents the analog circuitry of the FastRICH ASIC, a 16-channel ASIC, developedin a 65 nm CMOS technology specifically designed for the RICH detector at LHCb to readoutdetectors like Photomultiplier Tubes to be used at the LHC Run 4 and Silicon Photomultiplierscandidates for Run 5. The front-end (FE) stage has an input impedance below 50 Ω and aninput dynamic range from 5 μA to 5 mA with a power consumption of ∼5 mW/channel. [...]

Design and Optimization of a 4 Tesla 200 mm Aperture Helium-Free Nb-Ti Nested CCT Quadrupole/Dipole Superconducting Magnet
/ Kirby, Glyn (CERN ; Huelva U.) ; Deelen, N (Unlisted, NL) ; Iziquel, A (Unlisted, FR) ; Nugteren, J Van (Unlisted, NL) ; Page-Mason, E (Nottingham U.) ; Martins, D (PSI, Villigen) ; Berjillos, R (Huelva U.) ; Ramos, C Garcia (Huelva U.) ; Cordero, C A Gonzales (Huelva U.) ; Junquera, T (Unlisted, FR) et al.
This paper presents the design and optimization of a low-weight helium-free Nb-Ti CCT superconducting magnet (MAGDEM – MAGent DEMonstrator) for the R&D; phase of the ISOLDE Superconducting Recoil Separator (ISRS) at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland). The system can be expanded to other accelerator applications demanding compact lightweight superconducting magnets, such as medical hadron therapy systems. [...]

Status of the search for a muon EDM using the frozen-spin technique
/ muEDM Collaboration
Despite the many successes of the Standard Model of particle physics, there are stillseveral physical observations that it cannot explain, such as the matter-antimatter asymmetry,non-zero neutrino masses, and the microscopic nature of dark matter. To address these limitations, extensions to the standard model are necessary, and searches for electric dipole moments (EDMs) ofleptons are valuable test. [...]

Beam coupling impedance of the main extraction kickers in the CERN PS
/ Neroni, M (CERN ; U. Rome La Sapienza (main)) ; Barnes, M J (CERN) ; Lasheen, A (CERN) ; Mostacci, A (U. Rome La Sapienza (main)) ; Popovic, B (Argonne) ; Vollinger, C (CERN)
In view of the High Luminosity (HL) upgrade of the LHC, thebeam intensity must be doubled in the injector chain. To performreliable beam dynamics simulations, the beam coupling impedance inthe injectors, such as the Proton Synchrotron (PS), must be followedclosely by including all contributing elements into the impedancemodel. High voltage consolidation of the temperature measurement channels of the LHC superconducting current leads
/ Trikoupis, N (CERN) ; Casas-Cubillos, J (CERN) ; Bustamante, E (CERN)
Recurrent dielectric breakdowns on the cryogenics instrumentation during the CERN LHC Electrical Quality Assurance (ELQA) campaigns led to an investigation of their root causes. During the CERN Long Shutdown 2 (LS2), several weaknesses were identified like floating wires or cable screens, cabling non-conformities, connector assembly issues, and weakness of the electronic conditioning cards. Radiation test of commercial of the shelf (COTS) optical transceivers in the frame of the beam position monitor (BPM) consolidation project for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
/ Marin, M Barros (CERN) ; Boccardi, A (CERN) ; Ozdogan, S Can (CERN) ; Danzeca, S (CERN) ; Ferraro, R (CERN) ; Scialdone, A (CERN)
The consolidation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) beam position monitor (BPM) requires the deployment of about 5000 single-mode radiation-tolerant optical transmitters, working at 10 Gbps during 20 years of operation. While the use of the custom devices being designed at CERN remains the baseline for the project, 8 commercial of the shelf (COTS) optical transceivers have been evaluated as an alternative. [...]

Impact of beam-coupling impedance on the Schottky spectrum of bunched beam
/ Lannoy, C (CERN ; LPHE, Lausanne) ; Lasocha, K (CERN) ; Pieloni, T (LPHE, Lausanne) ; Alves, D (CERN) ; Mounet, N (CERN)
The Schottky monitors of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) canbe used for non-invasive beam diagnostics to estimate various bunchcharacteristics, such as tune, chromaticity, bunch profile orsynchrotron frequency distribution. However, collective effects, inparticular beam-coupling impedance, can significantly affectSchottky spectra when large bunch charges are involved. [...]
