Two-particle correlations in 13 TeV pp collisions
and their sensitivity to jets / hard scatterings / Cole, Brian (Columbia University (US)) /ATLAS Collaboration
Measurements of two-particle correlations in 𝑝𝑝 collisions show the presence of long-range correlations along Δ𝜂 that are strikingly similar to those seen in heavy-ion collisions. The similarity between the 𝑝𝑝 and heavy-ion measurements raises the possibility that a tiny droplet of the QGP is produced even in 𝑝𝑝 collisions. [...]

A High-Granularity Timing Detector for the ATLAS Phase-II upgrade / Casado, M P (Barcelona, IFAE ; BIST, Barcelona) /ATLAS HGTD Group Collaboration
The increase of the particle flux at the HL-LHC with instantaneous luminosities up to L=7.5 × 10 34 cm −2 s −1 will have a severe impact on the ATLAS detector reconstruction and trigger performance. The end-cap and forward region where the liquid Argon calorimeter has coarser granularity and the inner tracker has poorer momentum resolution will be particularly affected. [...]

A High-Granularity Timing Detector for the ATLAS Phase-II upgrade / Casado Lechuga, Pilar (The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) (ES))

Collective dynamics of heavy ion collisions in ATLAS / Trzupek, Adam (Polish Academy of Sciences (PL)) /ATLAS Collaboration
This talk gives an overview of the latest measurements of collective behavior in a variety of collision systems with the ATLAS detector at the LHC, including pp collisions at 13 TeV, Xe+Xe collisions at 5.44 TeV, and Pb+Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV. These include measurements of vn-[pT] correlations in Xe+Xe and Pb+Pb, which carry important information about the initial-state geometry of the Quark-Gluon Plasma and can potentially shed light on any quadrupole deformation in the Xe nucleus; measurements of flow decorrelations differential in rapidity, which probe the longitudinal structure of the colliding system; and measurements of the sensitivity of collective behavior in pp collisions to the presence of jets, which seek to distinguish the role that semi-hard processes play in the origin of these phenomena in small systems. Dielectron Production in pp Collisions at $\sqrt s =$ 13 TeV Measured in a Dedicated Low Magnetic-Field Setting with ALICE / Jungon, Jerome (Frankfurt U.) /ALICE Collaboration
The low-mass dielectron production in pp collisions at s = 13 TeV was measured by ALICE with a reduced field of the ALICE central barrel solenoid magnet. This increases the reconstruction efficiency of low- p T electrons and allows a better electron background rejection while simultaneously giving the opportunity to access a similar phase space as covered by the AFS experiment at the Intersecting Storage Rings at CERN. Measurement of associated production of a heavy boson (Z/W/Higgs) with two top quarks / Geisen, Jannik (Georg-August-Universitat Goettingen, II. Physikalisches Institut) /ATLAS Collaboration
The measurement of the associated production of a heavy boson with two top quarks (ttbar+W/Z/Higgs) allows for stringent tests of perturbative QCD. This talk presents the most recent cross section measurements of tt+W/Z/H production performed by the ATLAS experiment based on the HE pp collision dataset collected at 13 TeV, and comparison to the state-of-the-art theory predictions..
