HGCAL system performance tests conducted in 2024 using pre-series components in electron, pion, and muon beams /CMS Collaboration
From September 11 to 25, 2024, system performance tests for the HGCAL detector were carried out at the SPS H2 beam line. These tests aimed to evaluate the detector's behavior under realistic operating conditions of both silicon and tile modules within a magnetic field. [...]

Performance of a new Beam halo tagger for the ECAL endcap /CMS Collaboration
Beam halo can be a huge background for analyses that search for the presence of a single photon accompanied by missing transverse energy in the detector. It can be rejected in the ECAL barrel (EB) by requiring the timing of the photon within a certain window. [...]

Characterization of Polymeric Components of a Cable for Applications in a Radiation Environment / Bortoletto, F (CERN) ; Gascon, J (CERN) ; Kramer, T (CERN) ; Kranjcevic, M (CERN) ; Riveiro Herrero, J J (CERN) ; Ruiz-Palenzuela, B (CERN) ; Stadlbauer, T (CERN)
In this study, a cable featuring extruded polyethylene insulation and designed for CERN fast-pulsed magnet systems is assessed. The evaluation focuses on radiation resistance, with cable samples subjected to accelerated ageing using gamma radiation. [...]

The Iterative CLustering (TICL) (v5a) reconstruction at the CMS Phase-2 High Granularity Calorimeter Endcap /CMS Collaboration
In this note we show the development and results achieved with the new version of The Iterative CLustering (TICL) (version 5a), being developed for particle flow reconstruction in CMS during Phase 2 of the LHC, using the High Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL). Version 5a means that is the alpha version, the first pre-release of TICLv5 as its development is still ongoing and will be closed at the end of 2024. This new version consists in two new algorithms added for the Linking step, better usage of the timing information and a better TICLCandidate reconstruction. The first algorithm introduced is dedicated for the E/Gamma reconstruction, and it consists of a DNN that replaces the current Mustache Superclustering for the electron and photon superclustering. The second algorithm, instead, replaces the Geometrical Linking algorithm that was introduced with TICLv4. This new algorithm recovers the inefficiencies of the old Geometrical Linking, trying to collect as much energy as possible looking also around the core of the shower. Lots of improvements have been made also on the HGCAL Trackster time information and on its usage. [...]

ALLEGRO FCC-ee detector concept & Noble liquid calorimetry / Pekkanen, Juska (CERN)
ALLEGRO is a proposed FCC-ee general-purpose detector concept with a noble liquid (NL) electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL) as a central feature. Calorimetry based on liquified noble gases is a well-proven technology that has been successfully applied in numerous high-energy physics (HEP) experiments. [...]
