Tensor to scalar ratio from single field magnetogenesis / Giovannini, Massimo (CERN ; INFN, Milan Bicocca)
The tensor to scalar ratio is affected by the evolution of the large-scale gauge fields potentially amplified during an inflationary stage of expansion. After deriving the exact evolution equations for the scalar and tensor modes of the geometry in the presence of dynamical gauge fields, it is shown that the tensor to scalar ratio is bounded from below by the dominance of the adiabatic contribution and it cannot be smaller than one thousands whenever the magnetogenesis is driven by a single inflaton field..

Search for long-lived scalar particles in $B^+ \to K^+ \chi (\mu^+\mu^-)$ decays / LHCb Collaboration
A search for a long-lived scalar particle $\chi$ is performed, looking for the decay ${B^+ \to K^+ \chi}$ with ${\chi \to \mu^+\mu^-}$ in $pp$ collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3\, {\rm fb}^{-1}$, collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=7$ and 8$\,$TeV. Searches for lepton number violation and resonances in $K^{\pm} \rightarrow \pi\mu\mu$ decays / NA48/2 Collaboration
The NA48/2 experiment at CERN collected a large sample of charged kaon decays to final states with multiple charged particles in 2003--2004. A new upper limit on the rate of the lepton number violating decay $K^{\pm}\to\pi^{\mp}\mu^{\pm}\mu^{\pm}$ is reported: $\mathcal{B}(K^{\pm}\to\pi^{\mp}\mu^{\pm}\mu^{\pm})<8.6 \times 10^{-11}$ at 90% CL. We describe how quartic ($\lambda \phi^4$) inflation with non-minimal coupling to gravity is realized in realistic supersymmetric $SO(10)$ models. In a well-motivated example the $16-\overline{16}$ Higgs multiplets, which break $SO(10)$ to $SU(5)$ and yield masses for the right-handed neutrinos, provide the inflaton field $\phi$. [...]
