IO information-based component relevance estimation in a mixed-signal ASIC analog circuit / Weick, Julian (Darmstadt, Tech. U. ; CERN) ; Zoubir, A M (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Riedler, P (CERN) ; Berlea, D V (DESY) ; Tortajada, I Asensi (CERN) ; Dobrijevic, D (Zagreb U.) ; Suligoj, Tomislav (Zagreb U.) ; Fasselt, L (DESY) ; Pernegger, H (CERN) ; Snoeys, W (CERN) et al.
With increasing demand for active sensor surface and compact modularization, monolithic active pixel sensors are gaining track in high-energy physics experiments. The analog circuits in these mixed-signal ASICs are often black boxes where the components’ function and the circuitry’s behavior can only be evaluated through simulation or educated guesses. [...]

Development of the new large area Micromegas detector and its readout electronics for the AMBER experiment at CERN / Alice, C (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Alexeev, M (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Amoroso, A (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Chiosso, M (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Chubinidze, Z (Frascati) ; Denisov, O (INFN, Turin) ; Giordano, D (INFN, Turin) ; Gongadze, A (Ilia State U. ; Dubna, JINR) ; Kovyazina, N A (Dubna, JINR) ; Panzieri, D (Piemonte Orientale U., Novara ; INFN, Turin)
For the AMBER (NA66) experiment several upgrades of the COMPASS (NA58) spectrometer are foreseen for the medium and long-term AMBER program. Among this R&D; program the replacement of a part of the Multi-Wire Proportional Chambers (MWPCs) is planned, to face up the aging of some of the structural elements of the MWPC chambers. [...]

Status and prospect of the ATLAS TGC electronics upgrade for HL-LHC / Hashimoto, Daisuke (Nagoya University (JP)) /ATLAS Collaboration
The trigger and readout electronics for the thin gap chamber (TGC) detector at the ATLAS experiment will be replaced to fully exploit the physics potential of HL-LHC. For a flexible and highly efficient trigger algorithm, the new on-detector boards transmit data of all TGC hits at every bunch crossing to the off-detector boards to reconstruct muon tracks. [...]

A Sensor Employing an Array of Silicon Photomultipliers for Detection of keV Ions in Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry / Mariscal-Castilla, Antonio (Barcelona U.) ; Piller, Markus (CERN) ; Alozy, Jerome (CERN) ; Ballabriga, Rafael (CERN) ; Campbell, Michael (CERN) ; de la Torre, Oscar (Barcelona U.) ; Gascón, David (Barcelona U.) ; Gómez, Sergio (Barcelona, Polytechnic U.) ; Heathcote, David (Oxford U.) ; Mauricio, Joan (Barcelona U.) et al.
Pixellated scintillation detectors have the potential to overcome several limitations of conventional microchannel-plate-based detectors employed in time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ToF-MS), such as extending detector lifetime, reducing vacuum requirements, or increasing the ion throughput. We have developed a prototype comprising a fast organic scintillator (Exalite 404) coupled to an array of 16 silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs), with read-out electronics based on the FastIC application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC).
