<math display="inline"><msub><mi>N</mi><mrow><mi>eff</mi></mrow></msub></math> in the Standard Model at NLO is 3.043 / Cielo, Mattia (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Escudero, Miguel (CERN) ; Mangano, Gianpiero (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) ; Pisanti, Ofelia (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.)
The effective number of relativistic neutrino species is a fundamental probe of the early Universe and its measurement represents a key constraint on many scenarios beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics. In light of this, an accurate prediction of $N_{\rm eff}$ in the Standard Model is of pivotal importance. [...]

The baryon density of the Universe from an improved measurement of D(p,γ)3He cross section at LUNA / Imbriani, Gianluca (speaker) (University of Naples “Federico II”, IT) ; Mangano, Gianpiero (speaker) (University of Naples “Federico II”, IT)
The talk will report about the publication “The baryon density of the Universe from an improved rate of deuterium burning”, Nature 587, 210–213(2020). Light elements were produced in the first few minutes of the Universe through a sequence of nuclear reactions known as Big Bang nucleosynthesis (BBN) [...]

Strongest model-independent bound on the lifetime of Dark Matter / Audren, Benjamin (ITPP, Lausanne) ; Lesgourgues, Julien (ITPP, Lausanne ; CERN ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Mangano, Gianpiero (INFN, Naples) ; Serpico, Pasquale Dario (Annecy, LAPTH) ; Tram, Thomas (ITPP, Lausanne)
Dark Matter is essential for structure formation in the late Universe so it must be stable on cosmological time scales. But how stable exactly? Only assuming decays into relativistic particles, we report an otherwise model independent bound on the lifetime of Dark Matter using current cosmological data. [...]

Probing nuclear rates with Planck and BICEP2 / Di Valentino, Eleonora (Rome U. ; INFN, Rome) ; Gustavino, Carlo (INFN, Rome) ; Lesgourgues, Julien (ITPP, Lausanne ; CERN ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Mangano, Gianpiero (INFN, Naples) ; Melchiorri, Alessandro (Rome U. ; INFN, Rome) ; Miele, Gennaro (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples) ; Pisanti, Ofelia (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples)
Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) relates key cosmological parameters to the primordial abundance of light elements. In this paper, we point out that the recent observations of Cosmic Microwave Background anisotropies by the Planck satellite and by the BICEP2 experiment constrain these parameters with such a high level of accuracy that the primordial deuterium abundance can be inferred with remarkable precision. Cosmological lepton asymmetry with a nonzero mixing angle $\theta_{13}$ / Castorina, Emanuele (SISSA, Trieste) ; Franca, Urbano (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Lattanzi, Massimiliano (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Lesgourgues, Julien (CERN ; IPT, Lausanne ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Mangano, Gianpiero (INFN, Naples) ; Melchiorri, Alessandro (Rome U.) ; Pastor, Sergio (Valencia U., IFIC)
While the baryon asymmetry of the Universe is nowadays well measured by cosmological observations, the bounds on the lepton asymmetry in the form of neutrinos are still significantly weaker. We place limits on the relic neutrino asymmetries using some of the latest cosmological data, taking into account the effect of flavor oscillations. [...]
