CEPC Technical Design Report: Accelerator / CEPC Study Group Collaboration
The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) is a large scientific project initiated and hosted by China, fostered through extensive collaboration with international partners. The complex comprises four accelerators: a 30 GeV Linac, a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring, a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV, and a Collider operating at varying energy modes (Z, W, H, and ttbar). [...]

Development of n$^+$-in-p large-area silicon microstrip sensors for very high radiation environments – ATLAS12 design and initial results / Unno, Y (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Edwards, S O (Birmingham U.) ; Pyatt, S (Birmingham U.) ; Thomas, J P (Birmingham U.) ; Wilson, J A (Birmingham U.) ; Kierstead, J (Brookhaven) ; Lynn, D (Brookhaven) ; Carter, J R (Cambridge U.) ; Hommels, L B A (Cambridge U.) ; Robinson, D (Cambridge U.) et al.
We have been developing a novel radiation-tolerant n + -in-p silicon microstrip sensor for very high radiation environments, aiming for application in the high luminosity large hadron collider. The sensors are fabricated in 6 in., p-type, float-zone wafers, where large-area strip sensor designs are laid out together with a number of miniature sensors. [...]

Photon reconstruction in the ATLAS Inner Detector and Liquid Argon Barrel Calorimeter at the 2004 Combined Test Beam / Abat, E (Bogazici U.) ; Abdallah, J M (Barcelona, IFAE) ; Addy, T N (Hampton U.) ; Adragna, P (Queen Mary, U. of London) ; Aharrouche, M (Mainz U., Inst. Phys.) ; Ahmad, A (Taiwan, Inst. Phys.) ; Akesson, T.P A (Lund U.) ; Aleksa, M (CERN) ; Alexa, C (Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Anderson, K (Chicago U., EFI) et al.
The reconstruction of photons in the ATLAS detector is studied with data taken during the 2004 Combined Test Beam, where a full slice of the ATLAS detector was exposed to beams of particles of known energy at the CERN SPS. The results presented show significant differences in the longitudinal development of the electromagnetic shower between converted and unconverted photons as well as in the total measured energy. Progress with the single-sided module prototypes for the ATLAS tracker upgrade stave / Allport, P P (Liverpool U.) ; O'Shea, V (Glasgow U.) ; Wiik, L (Brookhaven) ; Dressnandt, N (Pennsylvania U.) ; Matheson, J (Rutherford) ; Li, Z (Brookhaven) ; Viehhauser, G (Oxford U.) ; Gallop, B (Rutherford) ; Jones, T J (Liverpool U.) ; Dwuznik, M (AGH-UST, Cracow) et al.
The ATLAS experiment is preparing for the planned luminosity upgrade of the LHC (the super-luminous LHC or sLHC) with a programme of development for tracking able to withstand an order of greater magnitude radiation fluence and much greater hit occupancy rates than the current detector. This has led to the concept of an all-silicon tracker with an enhanced performance pixel-based inner region and short-strips for much of the higher radii. [...]

A 2D fit with background measurement constraints to boost the Higgs to 4l discovery potential at the LHC / Anastopoulos, Christos (CERN) ; Kerschen, Nicolas (CERN) ; Paganis, Stathes (Sheffield U.)
A data-driven method for simultaneously extracting a potential Higgs to ZZ to 4e, 4mu, 2e2mu signal and its dominant backgrounds, is presented. The method relies on a combined fit of the 2-lepton, Z*, and 4-lepton invariant masses. [...]
