Search for solar axions produced through the axion-electron coupling $g_{ae}$ using a new GridPix detector at CAST / CAST Collaboration
We present a search for solar axions produced through the axion-electron coupling $(g_{ae})$ using data from a novel 7-GridPix detector installed at the CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST). [...]

Daily modulations and broadband strategy in axion searches: An application with the CAST-CAPP detector / Caspers, F. (ESI, Archamps ; CERN) ; Adair, C.M. (British Columbia U.) ; Altenmüller, K. (Zaragoza U.) ; Anastassopoulos, V. (Patras U.) ; Cuendis, S. Arguedas (CERN) ; Baier, J. (Freiburg U.) ; Barth, K. (CERN) ; Belov, A. (Unlisted) ; Bozicevic, D. (Rijeka U.) ; Bräuninger, H. (Garching, Max Planck Inst., MPE) et al.
It has been previously advocated that the presence of the daily and annual modulations of the axion flux on the Earth's surface may dramatically change the strategy of the axion searches. The arguments were based on the so-called Axion Quark Nugget (AQN) dark matter model which was originally put forward to explain the similarity of the dark and visible cosmological matter densities $\Omega_{\rm dark}\sim \Omega_{\rm visible}$. New Upper Limit on the Axion-Photon Coupling with an Extended CAST Run with a Xe-Based Micromegas Detector / CAST Collaboration
Hypothetical axions provide a compelling explanation for dark matter and could be emitted from the hot solar interior. The CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST) has been searching for solar axions via their back conversion to X-ray photons in a 9-T 10-m long magnet directed towards the Sun. [...]

Search for dark matter axions with CAST-CAPP / Adair, C.M. (British Columbia U.) ; Altenmüller, K. (Zaragoza U.) ; Anastassopoulos, V. (Patras U.) ; Cuendis, S. Arguedas (CERN) ; Baier, J. The CAST-CAPP axion haloscope, operating at CERN inside the CAST dipole magnet, has searched for axions in the 19.74 $\mu$eV to 22.47 $\mu$eV mass range. The detection concept follows the Sikivie haloscope principle, where Dark Matter axions convert into photons within a resonator immersed in a magnetic field. [...]

First results of the CAST-RADES haloscope search for axions at 34.67 $\mu$eV / CAST Collaboration
We present results of the Relic Axion Dark-Matter Exploratory Setup (RADES), a detector which is part of the CERN Axion Solar Telescope (CAST), searching for axion dark matter in the 34.67$\mu$eV mass range. A radio frequency cavity consisting of 5 sub-cavities coupled by inductive irises took physics data inside the CAST dipole magnet for the first time using this filter-like haloscope geometry. [...]

Axions are a natural consequence of the Peccei-Quinn mechanism, the most compelling solution to the strong-CP problem. Similar axion-like particles (ALPs) also appear in a number of possible extensions of the Standard Model, notably in string theories. [...]

Conceptual Design of BabyIAXO, the intermediate stage towards the International Axion Observatory / IAXO Collaboration
This article describes BabyIAXO, an intermediate experimental stage of the International Axion Observatory (IAXO), proposed to be sited at DESY. IAXO is a large-scale axion helioscope that will look for axions and axion-like particles (ALPs), produced in the Sun, with unprecedented sensitivity. [...]

International Axion Observatory (IAXO) status and prospects / Lakić, Biljana (Boskovic Inst., Zagreb) /IAXO Collaboration
International Axion Observatory (IAXO) is a new generation axion helioscope aiming to search for solar axions and axion-like particles (ALPs) with a signal to background ratio of about 5 orders of magnitude higher than the one achieved by currently the most sensitive axion helioscope, CAST. IAXO relies on large improvements in magnetic field volume and extensive use of X-ray focusing optics combined with low-background detectors. [...]

Next Generation Search for Axion and ALP Dark Matter with the International Axion Observatory / Ruz, J (LLNL, Livermore) ; Vogel, J K (LLNL, Livermore) ; Armengaud, E (IRFU, Saclay) ; Attie, D (IRFU, Saclay) ; Basso, S (Brera Observ.) ; Brun, P (IRFU, Saclay) ; Bykovskiy, N (CERN) ; Carmona, J M (Zaragoza U.) ; Castel, J F (Zaragoza U.) ; Cebrián, S (Zaragoza U.) et al.
More than 80 years after the postulation of dark matter, its nature remains one of the fundamental questions in cosmology. Axions are currently one of the leading candidates for the hypothetical, non-baryonic dark matter that is expected to account for about 25% of the energy density of the Universe. [...]

We report on a first measurement with a sensitive opto-mechanical force sensor designed for the direct detection of coupling of real chameleons to matter. These dark energy candidates could be produced in the Sun and stream unimpeded to Earth. [...]
