/ Vicenzi, Matteo (Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) ; Bian, Jianming (University of California Irvine (US)) ; Diwan, Milind Vaman (Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) ; Li, Yichen (Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) ; Linden, Steven Keith (Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) ; Salin, Olivier (Université Paris-Saclay (FR)) ; Wu, Wenjie (CERN) ; Xiao, Yiwen (University of California Irvine (US)) ; Yankelevich, Alejandro Jaime (University of California Irvine (US)) ; Yip, Kin (Brookhaven National Laboratory (US)) et al.
FLArE (Forward Liquid Argon Experiment) is a proposed Liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber (LArTPC) detector designed for very high-energy neutrinos and dark matter searches in the Forward Physics Facility (FPF), about $620~\mathrm{m}$ in the far-forward direction from the ATLAS interaction point at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This technical note describes the details of the simulation efforts performed for the design and optimization of the detector. [...]

LHC Triplet Task Force Report
/ Arduini, Gianluigi (CERN) ; Bradu, Benjamin (CERN) ; Brodzinski, Krzysztof (CERN) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Ciccotelli, Alessia (University of Manchester (GB)) ; Deferne, Guy (CERN) ; Fartoukh, Stephane (CERN) ; Fessia, Paolo (CERN) ; Garion, Cedric (CERN) et al.
The excellent performance of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and the extension of Run 3 by one year have led to a significant increase of the expected integrated luminosity by the end of its operation and before the start of the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), exceeding the design LHC integrated luminosity of 300 fb−1 for which the final focus region has been designed. / Cecchetto, Matteo (CERN) ; Sacristan Barbero, Mario (CERN) ; Lerner, Giuseppe (CERN) ; García Alía, Rubén (CERN) ; Aguiar, Ygor (CERN) ; Senajova, Dominika (CERN) ; Garcia Infantes, Francisco (CERN) ; Pavon Rodriguez, Jose Antonio (CERN) ; Sabate Gilarte, Marta (CERN) ; Vlachoudis, Vasilis (CERN) et al.
We study the neutron field at the NEAR station of the neutron time-of-flight (n_TOF) facility at CERN, through Monte Carlo simulations, well-characterized static random access memories (SRAMs), and radio-photoluminescence (RPL) dosimeters, with the aim of providing neutrons for electronics irradiation. Particle fluxes and typical quantities relevant for electronics testing were simulated for several test positions at NEAR and compared to those at the CERN high-energy accelerator mixed-field facility (CHARM), highlighting similitudes and differences. Numerical Assessment of the Inhomogeneous Temperature Field and the Quality of Heat Extraction of Nb3Sn Impregnated Magnets for the High Luminosity Upgrade of the LHC
/ de Sousa, Patricia Borges (CERN) ; Puthran, Kirtana (CERN ; KIT, Karlsruhe) ; Sabaté-Gilarte, Marta (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Izquierdo Bermudez, Susana (CERN) ; Todesco, Ezio (CERN) ; van Weelderen, Rob (CERN)
The High Luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) at CERN foresees the installation of Nb3Sn-based quadrupole magnets at selected interaction points of the accelerator. The precise knowledge of each magnet's thermal characteristics and heat extraction performance in response to power depositions during both nominal and ultimate conditions is essential in determining safe operating margins. Update on the FPF Facility technical studies
/ Boyd, Jamie (CERN) ; Andreini, Marco (CERN) ; Arduini, Gianluigi (CERN) ; Balazs, Kincso (CERN) ; Bozzi, Roberto Ales (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Corsanego, Fabio (CERN) ; Corso, Jean-Pierre (CERN) ; Elie, Lucie (CERN) ; Infantino, Angelo (CERN) et al.
The Forward Physics Facility (FPF) is a proposed new facility to house several new experiments at the CERN High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). The FPF is located such that the experiments can be aligned with the collision axis line of sight (LOS), a location which allows many interesting physics measurements and searches for new physics to be carried out. Comparison Between Run 2 TID Measurements and FLUKA Simulations in the CERN LHC Tunnel of the Atlas Insertion Region
/ Prelipcean, Daniel (CERN) ; Biłko, Kacper (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Ciccotelli, Alessia (CERN) ; Di Francesca, Diego (CERN) ; García Alía, Ruben (CERN) ; Humann, Barbara (CERN) ; Lerner, Giuseppe (CERN) ; Ricci, Daniel (CERN) ; Sabaté-Gilarte, Marta (CERN)
In this paper we present a systematic benchmark between the simulated and the measured data for the radiation monitors useful for Radiation to Electronics (R2E) studies at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. For this purpose, the radiation levels in the main LHC tunnel on the right side of the Interaction Point 1 (ATLAS detector) are simulated using the FLUKA Monte Carlo code and compared against Total Ionising Dose (TID) measurements performed with the Beam Loss Monitoring (BLM) system, and 180 m of Distributed Optical Fibre Radiation Sensor (DOFRS). Study of Pb-Pb and Pb-p Collision Debris in the CERN LHC in View of HL-LHC Operation
/ Sabaté-Gilarte, Marta (CERN) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Lechner, Anton (CERN)
For the first time, a full characterization of the Pb-Pb and Pb-p collision debris as well as its impact in terms of energy deposition in the long straight section (LSS) of CERN’s Large Hadron Collider has been carried out. By means of Monte Carlo simulations with FLUKA, both inelastic nuclear interaction and electromagnetic dissociation were taken into account as source term for lead ion operation, while for Pb-p operation only nuclear interaction is of importance.
