Towards development of Spark-Less-Avalanche-Microstructures / Waldmann, T (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Fabbietti, L (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Gasik, P (Darmstadt, GSI ; FAIR, Darmstadt) ; Peskov, V (Uludag U. ; CERN) ; Ulukutlu, B (Munich, Tech. U.)
Spark-Less-Amplification-Microstructures are a new type of gaseous detectors, which shouldallow overcoming the discharge limitations of the current MPGD technologies. Preliminary studiesrevealed that sparks usually appear in the narrow region of the amplification gap, where theelectric field lines are parallel to each other. [...]

Correction of the baseline fluctuations in the GEM-based ALICE TPC / ALICE TPC Collaboration
To operate the ALICE Time Projection Chamber in continuous mode during the Run~3 and Run~4 data-taking periods of the Large Hadron Collider, the multi-wire proportional chamber-based readout was replaced with gas-electron multipliers. As expected, the detector performance is affected by the so-called common-mode effect, which leads to significant baseline fluctuations. [...]

ALICE upgrades during the LHC Long Shutdown 2 / ALICE Collaboration
A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) has been conceived and constructed as a heavy-ion experiment at the LHC. During LHC Runs 1 and 2, it has produced a wide range of physics results using all collision systems available at the LHC. [...]

The upgrade of the ALICE TPC with GEMs and continuous readout / ALICE TPC Collaboration
The upgrade of the ALICE TPC will allow the experiment to cope with the high interaction rates foreseen for the forthcoming Run 3 and Run 4 at the CERN LHC. In this article, we describe the design of new readout chambers and front-end electronics, which are driven by the goals of the experiment. [...]

The early detection of dangerous events, such as large-scale fires, is critical to prevent the subsequent loss in term of human lives and damage to infrastructure. Here we report about the latest evaluation of the performance of solar blind flat-panel sensors developed by us, for the detection of flames, sparks and smoke. [...]

(Anti-)Deuteron production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The study of (anti-)deuteron production in pp collisions has proven to be a powerful tool to investigate the formation mechanism of loosely bound states in high energy hadronic collisions. In this paper the production of $\text{(anti-)deuterons}$ is studied as a function of the charged particle multiplicity in inelastic pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV using the ALICE experiment. Linear and non-linear flow modes of charged hadrons in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\rm{NN}}=$5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
Anisotropic flow coefficients, $v_n$, non-linear flow mode coefficients, $\chi_{n,mk}$, and correlations among different symmetry planes, $\rho_{n,mk}$ are measured in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\rm{NN}}=5.02$ TeV. Results obtained with multi-particle correlations are reported for the transverse momentum interval $0.2<p_\rm{T}<5.0$ GeV/$c$ within the pseudorapidity interval $0.4<|\eta|<0.8$ as a function of collision centrality. Non-linear flow modes of identified particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The $p_{\rm{T}}$-differential non-linear flow modes, $v_{4,22}$, $v_{5,32}$, $v_{6,33}$ and $v_{6,222}$ for $\pi^{\pm}$, $\rm{K}^{\pm}$ , $\rm{K}^{0}_{S}$ , p + $\overline{\rm{p}}$, $\Lambda$ + $\overline{\Lambda}$ and $\phi$-meson have been measured for the first time at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV in Pb-Pb collisions with the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The results were obtained with a multi-particle technique, correlating the identified hadrons with reference charged particles from a different pseudorapidity region. [...]
