Direct observation of the dead-cone effect in quantum chromodynamics / ALICE Collaboration
At particle collider experiments, elementary particle interactions with large momentum transfer produce quarks and gluons (known as partons) whose evolution is governed by the strong force, as described by the theory of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) [1]. The vacuum is not transparent to the partons and induces gluon radiation and quark pair production in a process that can be described as a parton shower [2]. [...]

Measurement of $\Lambda$(1520) production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The production of the $\Lambda$(1520) baryonic resonance has been measured at midrapidity in inelastic pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV and in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV for non-single diffractive events and in multiplicity classes. The resonance is reconstructed through its hadronic decay channel $\Lambda$(1520) $\rightarrow$ pK$^{-}$ and the charge conjugate with the ALICE detector. [...]

Charged-particle multiplicity distributions over a wide pseudorapidity range in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 0.9, 7, and 8 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
We present the charged-particle multiplicity distributions over a wide pseudorapidity range ($-3.4<\eta<5.0$) for pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 0.9, 7, and 8 TeV at the LHC. Results are based on information from the Silicon Pixel Detector and the Forward Multiplicity Detector of ALICE, extending the pseudorapidity coverage of the earlier publications and the high-multiplicity reach. Technical Design Report for the Upgrade of the ALICE Inner Tracking System / ALICE Collaboration
ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is preparing a major upgrade of its experimental apparatus, planned for installation in the second long LHC shutdown (LS2) in the years 2018-2019. These plans are presented in the ALICE Upgrade Letter of Intent submitted to the LHCC in September 2012. [...]

Measurement of charged jet suppression in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76TeV / ALICE Collaboration
A measurement of the transverse momentum spectra of jets in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=2.76TeV is reported. Jets are reconstructed from charged particles using the anti-$k_T$ jet algorithm with jet resolution parameters R of 0.2 and 0.3 in pseudo-rapidity |$\eta$|<0.5. [...]

Charmonium and $e^+e^-$ pair photoproduction at mid-rapidity in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The ALICE Collaboration at the LHC has measured the $J/\psi$ and $\psi$' photoproduction at mid-rapidity in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV. The charmonium is identified via its leptonic decay for events where the hadronic activity is required to be minimal. [...]

D meson elliptic flow in non-central Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76TeV / ALICE Collaboration
Azimuthally anisotropic distributions of $D^0, D^+$ and $D^{*+}$ mesons were studied in the central rapidity region (|y| < 0.8) in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV per nucleon-nucleon collision, with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The second Fourier coefficient $\nu_2$ (commonly denoted elliptic flow) was measured in the centrality class 30-50% as a function of the D meson transverse momentum $p_T$, in the range 2-16 GeV/c. Performance of the ALICE VZERO system / ALICE Collaboration
ALICE is an LHC experiment devoted to the study of strongly interacting matter in proton--proton, proton--nucleus and nucleus--nucleus collisions at ultra-relativistic energies. The ALICE VZERO system, made of two scintillator arrays at asymmetric positions, one on each side of the interaction point, plays a central role in ALICE. [...]
