A tale of two exponentiations in $ \mathcal{N} $ = 8 supergravity at subleading level
/ Di Vecchia, Paolo (Nordita ; Royal Inst. Tech., Stockholm ; Bohr Inst.) ; Naculich, Stephen G. (Bowdoin Coll.) ; Russo, Rodolfo (Queen Mary, U. of London) ; Veneziano, Gabriele (CERN ; College de France) ; White, Chris D. (Queen Mary, U. of London)
High-energy massless gravitational scattering in ${\cal N}=8$ supergravity was recently analyzed at leading level in the deflection angle, uncovering an interesting connection between exponentiation of infrared divergences in momentum space and the eikonal exponentiation in impact parameter space. Here we extend that analysis to the first non trivial sub-leading level in the deflection angle which, for massless external particles, implies going to two loops, i.e. [...]

Bootstrapping the QCD soft anomalous dimension
/ Almelid, Øyvind (U. Edinburgh, Higgs Ctr. Theor. Phys.) ; Duhr, Claude (CERN ; Louvain U., CP3) ; Gardi, Einan (Edinburgh U. ; U. Edinburgh, Higgs Ctr. Theor. Phys.) ; McLeod, Andrew (Santa Barbara, KITP ; SLAC) ; White, Chris D. (Queen Mary, U. of London)
The soft anomalous dimension governs the infrared singularities of scattering amplitudes to all orders in perturbative quantum field theory, and is a crucial ingredient in both formal and phenomenological applications of non-abelian gauge theories. It has recently been computed at three-loop order for massless partons by explicit evaluation of all relevant Feynman diagrams. [...]

The double copy relates scattering amplitudes in gauge and gravity theories. In this paper, we expand the scope of the double copy to construct spacetime metrics through a systematic perturbative expansion. [...]

The double copy: Bremsstrahlung and accelerating black holes
/ Luna, Andrés (Glasgow U.) ; Monteiro, Ricardo (CERN) ; Nicholson, Isobel (Edinburgh U. ; U. Edinburgh, Higgs Ctr. Theor. Phys.) ; O'Connell, Donal (Edinburgh U. ; Santa Barbara, KITP ; U. Edinburgh, Higgs Ctr. Theor. Phys.) ; White, Chris D. (Glasgow U.)
Advances in our understanding of perturbation theory suggest the existence of a correspondence between classical general relativity and Yang-Mills theory. A concrete example of this correspondence, which is known as the double copy, was recently introduced for the case of stationary Kerr-Schild spacetimes. [...]

On next-to-eikonal exponentiation
/ Laenen, Eric (NIKHEF, Amsterdam ; Utrecht U. ; Amsterdam U.) ; Magnea, Lorenzo (CERN ; Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Stavenga, Gerben (Fermilab) ; White, Chris D. (Durham U., IPPP)
The eikonal approximation is at the heart of many theoretical and phenomenological studies involving multiple soft gauge boson emissions in high energy physics. We describe our efforts towards the extension of the eikonal approximation for scattering amplitudes to the first subleading power in the soft momentum..

Isolating $Wt$ production at the LHC
/ White, Chris D. (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Frixione, Stefano (CERN ; ITPP, Lausanne) ; Laenen, Eric (Amsterdam U. ; Utrecht U. ; NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Maltoni, Fabio (Louvain U., CP3)
We address the issue of single top production in association with a W boson at the Large Hadron Collider, in particular how to obtain an accurate description in the face of the top pair production background given that the two processes interfere with each other. We stress the advantages of an MC@NLO description, and find that for cuts used to isolate the signal, it makes sense to consider Wt as a well-defined production process in that the interference with top pair production is small, and the cross-section of the former is above the scale variation uncertainty associated with the latter.
