Power Budgets and Performance Considerations for Future Higgs Factories
/ Zimmermann, Frank (CERN) ; Belomestnykh, Sergey (Fermilab) ; Biagini, Maria (Frascati) ; Boscolo, Manuela (Frascati) ; Faus-Golfe, Angeles (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Gao, Jie (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.) ; Koratzinos, Michael (PSI, Villigen ; U. Malta) ; List, Benno (DESY) ; Litvinenko, Vladimir (SUNY, Stony Brook) ; Nanni, Emilio (SLAC) et al.
A special session at eeFACT’22 reviewed the electrical power budgets and luminosity risks for eight proposed future Higgs and electroweak factories (CCC, CEPC, CERC, CLIC, FCC-ee, HELEN, ILC, and RELIC) and, in comparison, for a lepton-hadron collider (EIC) presently under construction. We report highlights of presentations and discussions..

The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), a state-of-the-art facility for studying the strong force, is expected to begin commissioning its first experiments in 2028. This is an opportune time for artificial intelligence (AI) to be included from the start at this facility and in all phases that lead up to the experiments. [...]

High-Field Design Concept for Second Interaction Region of the Electron-Ion Collider
/ Gamage, Bamunuvita (Jefferson Lab) ; Arbelaez, Diego (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Aschenauer, Elke (Brookhaven) ; Berg, J (Brookhaven) ; Ent, Rolf (Jefferson Lab) ; Ferracin, Paolo (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Morozov, Vasiliy (ORNL, Oak Ridge (main)) ; Rajput-Ghoshal, Renuka (Jefferson Lab) ; Sabbi, GianLuca (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Satogata, Todd (Jefferson Lab) et al.
Efficient realization of the scientific potential of the Electron Ion Collider (EIC) calls for addition of a future second Interaction Region (2nd IR) and a detector in the RHIC IR8 region after the EIC project completion. The second IR and detector are needed to independently cross-check the results of the first detector, and to provide measurements with complementary acceptance. [...]

Architectural Considerations for Recirculated and Energy-Recovered Hard XFEL Drivers

Tech.) ; Benson, Stephen (Jefferson Lab) ; Charles, Tessa (CERN) ; Powers, Tom (Jefferson Lab) ; Roblin, Yves (Jefferson Lab) ; Satogata, Todd (Jefferson Lab) ; Tennant, Chris (Jefferson Lab) ; Thompson, Neil (Daresbury ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Wheelhouse, Alan (Daresbury ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) et al.
A confluence of events motivates discussion of design options for hard XFEL driver accelerators. Firstly, multiple superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) driven systems are now online (European XFEL), in construction (LCLS-II), or in design (MARIE); these provide increasing evidence of the transformational potential they offer for fundamental science with its concomitant benefits.
