The LHCb experiment is planning to operate with a 7.5-fold increase in instantaneous luminosity for LHC Runs 5 and 6. The performance of the Vertex Locator detector is crucial in the event reconstruction at the increased pile-up, providing real-time information to be used in the trigger. [...]

Model-independent confirmation of the Z(4430)−Z(4430)− state
/ LHCb collaboration
The decay B0→ψ(2S)K+π−B0→ψ(2S)K+π− is analyzed using 3 fb−13 fb−1 of pppp collision data collected with the LHCb detector. A model-independent description of the ψ(2S)πψ(2S)π mass spectrum is obtained, using as input the KπKπ mass spectrum and angular distribution derived directly from data, without requiring a theoretical description of resonance shapes or their interference. Measurement of the CP-violating phase ϕsϕs in ˉB0s→D+sD−s¯B0s→D+sD−s decays
/ LHCb collaboration
We present a measurement of the CPCP-violating weak mixing phase ϕsϕs using the decay ˉB0s→D+sD−s¯B0s→D+sD−s in a data sample corresponding to 3.03.0 fb−1−1 of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector in pppp collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. An analysis of the time evolution of the system, which does not constrain |λ|=1|λ|=1 to allow for the presence of CPCP violation in decay, yields ϕs=0.02±0.17ϕs=0.02±0.17 (stat) ±0.02±0.02 (syst) rad, |λ|=0.91+0.18−0.15|λ|=0.91+0.18−0.15 (stat) ±0.02±0.02 (syst). Measurement of the ηc(1S)ηc(1S) production cross-section in proton-proton collisions via the decay ηc(1S)→pˉpηc(1S)→p¯p
/ LHCb collaboration
The production of the ηc(1S)ηc(1S) state in proton-proton collisions is probed via its decay to the pˉpp¯p final state with the LHCb detector, in the rapidity range 2.0<y<4.52.0<y<4.5 and in the meson transverse-momentum range pT>6.5pT>6.5 GeV/c. The cross-section for prompt production of ηc(1S)ηc(1S) mesons relative to the prompt J/ψJ/ψ cross-section is measured, for the first time, to be σηc(1S)/σJ/ψ=1.74±0.29±0.28±0.18Bσηc(1S)/σJ/ψ=1.74±0.29±0.28±0.18B at a centre-of-mass energy √s=7√s=7 TeV using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.7 fb−1−1, and σηc(1S)/σJ/ψ=1.60±0.29±0.25±0.17Bσηc(1S)/σJ/ψ=1.60±0.29±0.25±0.17B at √s=8√s=8 TeV using 2.0 fb−1−1. / LHCb Collaboration
Additional abstract: The additional document presents figures of the projections into the two-body invariant masses of the spectra of B±→K±π+π−,B±→K±K+K−,B±→π±K+K−B±→K±π+π−,B±→K±K+K−,B±→π±K+K− and B±→π±π+π−B±→π±π+π− decays. The figures show additional information related to the CP asymmetry in phase space, for section VII of the article Physical Review D 90, 112004 (2014)..

Determination of γγ and −2βs−2βs from charmless two-body decays of beauty mesons
/ LHCb collaboration
Using the latest LHCb measurements of time-dependent CPCP violation in the B0s→K+K−B0s→K+K− decay, a U-spin relation between the decay amplitudes of B0s→K+K−B0s→K+K− and B0→π+π−B0→π+π− decay processes allows constraints to be placed on the angle γγ of the unitarity triangle and on the B0sB0s mixing phase −2βs−2βs. Results from an extended approach, which uses additional inputs on B0→π0π0B0→π0π0 and B+→π+π0B+→π+π0 decays from other experiments and exploits isospin symmetry, are also presented. [...]

Measurement of the CKM angle γγ using B±→DK±B±→DK± with D→K0Sπ+π−,K0SK+K−D→K0Sπ+π−,K0SK+K− decays
/ LHCb Collaboration
A binned Dalitz plot analysis of B±→DK±B±→DK± decays, with D→K0Sπ+π−D→K0Sπ+π− and D→K0SK+K−D→K0SK+K−, is performed to measure the CPCP-violating observables x±x± and y±y±, which are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle γγ. The analysis exploits a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb−1−1 collected by the LHCb experiment. [...]
