Effect of High-Magnetic Field Region Geometry on the Efficiency of a 750 MHz IH Structure / Moreno, Gabriela (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Battaglia, Maria Cristina (Unlisted, ES) ; Calvo, Pedro (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Carmona, José Miguel (Unlisted, ES) ; Gavela, Daniel (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Giner Navarro, Jorge (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Lombardi, Alessandra (CERN) ; López López, Ricardo (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Oliver, Concepcion (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Pérez Morales, Jose (Madrid, CIEMAT)
High frequency structures generally translate to high efficiency performances thanks to reduced surfaces of the inner cavity. Two round-profiles geometry and some variations of two important parameters of a 750 MHz IH-DTL are proposed in this paper in order to improve shunt impedance performance regarding an existing solution with flat-walled cavity developed by CERN. Cell Geometry Optimization for Dipole Kick Correction in a High-Frequency IH Structure / López López, Ricardo (Madrid, CIEMAT ; Carlos III U., Madrid) ; Battaglia, Maria Cristina (Unlisted, ES) ; Calvo, Pedro (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Carmona, José Miguel (Unlisted, ES) ; Gavela, Daniel (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Giner Navarro, Jorge (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Lombardi, Alessandra (CERN) ; Moreno, Gabriela (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Oliver, Concepcion (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Pérez Morales, Jose (Madrid, CIEMAT)
Given the asymmetry in the stem configuration of an IH-DTL structure, an electric dipole component is always present between drift tubes, and it is especially significant for reduced dimensions in high-frequency regimes. Here we study the effect of different modifications of the drift tubes geometry of a 750 MHz IH-DTL to eliminate the impact of the dipole component in the transverse beam dynamics. [...]

The exploration of the universe has recently entered a new era thanks to the multi-messenger paradigm, characterized by a continuous increase in the quantity and quality of experimental data that is obtained by the detection of the various cosmic messengers (photons, neutrinos, cosmic rays and gravitational waves) from numerous origins. They give us information about their sources in the universe and the properties of the intergalactic medium. [...]

Axion search with BabyIAXO in view of IAXO / Abeln, A. (Kirchhoff Inst. Phys.) ; Altenmüller, K. (Zaragoza U.) ; Cuendis, S. Arguedas (CERN) ; Armengaud, E. (IRFU, Saclay) ; Attié, D. Axions are a natural consequence of the Peccei-Quinn mechanism, the most compelling solution to the strong-CP problem. Similar axion-like particles (ALPs) also appear in a number of possible extensions of the Standard Model, notably in string theories. [...]

Conceptual Design of BabyIAXO, the intermediate stage towards the International Axion Observatory / IAXO Collaboration
This article describes BabyIAXO, an intermediate experimental stage of the International Axion Observatory (IAXO), proposed to be sited at DESY. IAXO is a large-scale axion helioscope that will look for axions and axion-like particles (ALPs), produced in the Sun, with unprecedented sensitivity. [...]

Next Generation Search for Axion and ALP Dark Matter with the International Axion Observatory / Ruz, J (LLNL, Livermore) ; Vogel, J K (LLNL, Livermore) ; Armengaud, E (IRFU, Saclay) ; Attie, D (IRFU, Saclay) ; Basso, S (Brera Observ.) ; Brun, P (IRFU, Saclay) ; Bykovskiy, N (CERN) ; Carmona, J M (Zaragoza U.) ; Castel, J F (Zaragoza U.) ; Cebrián, S (Zaragoza U.) et al.
More than 80 years after the postulation of dark matter, its nature remains one of the fundamental questions in cosmology. Axions are currently one of the leading candidates for the hypothetical, non-baryonic dark matter that is expected to account for about 25% of the energy density of the Universe. [...]

Physics potential of the International Axion Observatory (IAXO) / IAXO Collaboration
We review the physics potential of a next generation search for solar axions: the International Axion Observatory (IAXO). Endowed with a sensitivity to discover axion-like particles (ALPs) with a coupling to photons as small as $g_{a\gamma}\sim 10^{-12}$ GeV$^{-1}$, or to electrons $g_{ae}\sim$10$^{-13}$, IAXO has the potential to find the QCD axion in the 1 meV$\sim$1 eV mass range where it solves the strong CP problem, can account for the cold dark matter of the Universe and be responsible for the anomalous cooling observed in a number of stellar systems.
