Test beam performance and detailed studies of the structure of hadronic showers with highly granular calorimeters / Chadeeva, Marina (LPI, Moscow (main)) ; Ete, Remi (Lyon, IPN) ; Hartbrich, Oskar (DESY) ; Neubuser, Coralie (DESY) ; Steen, Arnaud (Lyon, IPN) ; Tran, Huong (DESY)
The highly granular calorimeters developed and tested by the CALICE collaboration have provided large data samples with precise three-dimensional information on hadronic showers with steel and tungsten absorbers and silicon, scintillator and gas detector readout. The calorimeters have been operated in extensive test beam campaigns at DESY, CERN and FNAL in the energy range from 1 GeV to 300 GeV. [...]

Software compensation in Particle Flow reconstruction / Lan Tran, Huong (DESY) ; Krüger, Katja (DESY) ; Sefkow, Felix (DESY) ; Green, Steven (Cavendish Laboratory) ; Marshall, John (Cavendish Laboratory) ; Thomson, Mark (Cavendish Laboratory) ; Simon, Frank (MPG-MPP)
The Particle Flow approach to calorimetry requires highly granular calorimeters and sophisticated software algorithms in order to reconstruct and identify individual particles in complex event topologies. The high spatial granularity, together with analog energy information, can be further exploited in software compensation. [...]

Measurement of the centrality dependence of the charged-particle pseudorapidity distribution in proton--lead collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_\text{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The centrality dependence of the mean charged-particle multiplicity as a function of pseudorapidity is measured in approximately 1 $\mu$b$^{-1}$ of proton--lead collisions at a nucleon--nucleon centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s_{_\text{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV using the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Charged particles with absolute pseudorapidity less than 2.7 are reconstructed using the ATLAS pixel detector. [...]

Determination of the top-quark pole mass using $t \bar{t}+1$-jet events collected with the ATLAS experiment in 7 TeV $pp$ collisions / ATLAS Collaboration
The normalized differential cross section for top-quark pair production in association with at least one jet is studied as a function of the inverse of the invariant mass of the $t \bar{t}+1$-jet system. This distribution can be used for a precise determination of the top-quark mass since gluon radiation depends on the mass of the quarks. [...]

Centrality, rapidity and transverse momentum dependence of isolated prompt photon production in lead-lead collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76$ TeV measured with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Prompt photon production in $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76$ TeV Pb+Pb collisions has been measured by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider using data collected in 2011 with an integrated luminosity of 0.14 nb$^{-1}$. Inclusive photon yields, scaled by the mean nuclear thickness function, are presented as a function of collision centrality and transverse momentum in two pseudo rapidity intervals, $|\eta| < 1.37$ and $1.52 < |\eta| < 2.37$. Measurement of the production of neighbouring jets in lead-lead collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This Letter presents measurements of correlated production of nearby jets in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76$ TeV using the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The measurement was performed using 0.14 ${\rm nb}^{-1}$ of data recorded in 2011. [...]

Search for heavy Majorana neutrinos with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
A search for heavy Majorana neutrinos in events containing a pair of high-$p_{\mathrm{T}}$ leptons of the same charge and high-$p_{\mathrm{T}}$ jets is presented. The search uses $20.3 \mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ collision data collected with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider with a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV. [...]

Search for high-mass diphoton resonances in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This article describes a search for high-mass resonances decaying to a pair of photons using a sample of $20.3$ fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The data are found to be in agreement with the Standard Model prediction, and limits are reported in the framework of the Randall-Sundrum model. [...]

Measurement of charged-particle spectra in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{{s}_\mathsf{NN}} = 2.76$TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC / ATLAS Collaboration
Charged-particle spectra obtained in 0.15nb${}^{-1}$ of Pb+Pb interactions at $\sqrt{{s}_\mathsf{NN}}=2.76$TeV and 4.2pb${}^{-1}$ of pp interactions at $\sqrt{s}=2.76$TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC are presented in a wide transverse momentum ($0.5 < p_{\mathrm{T}} < 150$GeV) and pseudorapidity ($|\eta|<2$) range. For Pb+Pb collisions, the spectra are presented as a function of collision centrality, which is determined by the response of the forward calorimeter located on both sides of the interaction point.
