Status and Powering Test Results of HTS Undulator Coils at 77 K for Compact FEL Designs / Richter, Sebastian (CERN ; KIT, Karlsruhe, EKP) ; Ballarino, Amalia (CERN) ; Bernhard, Axel (KIT, Karlsruhe, EKP) ; Müller, Anke-Susanne (KIT, Karlsruhe, EKP) ; Nes, Thomas (CERN) ; Schoerling, Daniel (CERN)
The production of low emittance positron beams for future linear and circular lepton colliders, like CLIC or FCC-ee, requires high-field damping wigglers. Just as compact free-electron lasers (FELs) require high-field but as well short-period undulators to emit high energetic, coherent photons. [...]

Bending Radius Limits of Different Coated REBCO Conductor Tapes - An Experimental Investigation with Regard to HTS Undulators / Richter, Sebastian C (CERN ; KIT, Karlsruhe, Dept. Phys.) ; Bernhard, Axel (KIT, Karlsruhe, Dept. Phys.) ; Drechsler, Antje (KIT, Karlsruhe, Dept. Phys.) ; Müller, Anke-Susanne (KIT, Karlsruhe, Dept. Phys.) ; Ringsdorf, Bernd (KIT, Karlsruhe, Dept. Phys.) ; Schlachter, Sonja I (KIT, Karlsruhe, Dept. Phys.) ; Schoerling, Daniel (CERN)
Compact FELs require short-period, high-field undulators in combination with compact accelerator structures to produce coherent light up to X-rays. Likewise, for the production of low emittance positron beams for future lepton colliders, like CLIC or FCC-ee, high-field damping wigglers are required. [...]

Effect of Epoxy Volume Fraction on the Stiffness of Nb$_3$Sn Rutherford Cable Stacks / Wolf, Felix (CERN) ; Lackner, Friedrich (CERN) ; Hofmann, Michael (Forschungsreaktor Munich) ; Scheuerlein, Christian (CERN) ; Schoerling, Daniel (CERN) ; Tommasini, Davide (CERN)
For the optimization of Nb3Sn superconducting accelerator magnet design and assembly parameters the stress-strain behavior of the coils needs to be known. We have measured the stiffness of Nb3Sn Rutherford cable stacks with different epoxy volume fraction. [...]

FCC-hh Conceptual Designs and Windability of the Main Quadrupoles / Genot, Clement (CERN) ; Lorin, Clement (CERN) ; Minier, Gilles (CERN) ; Pepinter, Edouard (CERN) ; Rabti, Yosri (CERN) ; Rochepault, Etienne (CERN) ; Salmi, Tiina (Tampere U. of Tech.) ; Schoerling, Daniel (CERN) ; Tommasini, Davide (Geneva U.)
In the framework of a design study for a post-LHC 100 TeV circular hadron collider, namely FCC-hh, high-gradient Nb$_3$Sn lattice quadrupoles were investigated, following closely the specifications from the optic layout of that machine. After several iterations, a baseline design of the main quadrupole was selected and, then, included in the FCC-hh Conceptual Design Report. [...]

Chapter 11: 11 T dipole and new connection cryostat for the dispersion suppressor collimators / Savary, Frederic (CERN) ; Schoerling, Daniel (CERN)
In Run 3 the intensity of the ion beams (usually Pb ions) for ion–ion collisions is planned to be increased by a factor of three: from 40 × 109 to 120 × 109 circulating particles. This intensity increase will amplify the losses in the cold zone at P2 and P7 and may drive the beam induced heat losses in the main dipoles in the dispersion suppressor (DS) region above the quench limit. Design of Radiation Hard Spare Units for the Orbit Corrector Dipoles of LHC / Louzguiti, Alexandre (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) ; Contat, Pierre-Antoine (CERN) ; Fagundes de Sousa, Daniela (CERN) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; Lepoittevin, Benoit (CERN) ; Liberale, Mattia (CERN) ; Mazet, Jacky (CERN) ; Ravaioli, Emmanuele (CERN) ; Sahner, Thomas (CERN) et al.
Due to the High Luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), the orbit corrector dipoles located just before the interaction points of the accelerator will receive significantly increased gamma radiation doses, i.e., up to 20 MGy over the HL-LHC lifetime. Since these magnets were not designed to withstand such high gamma doses, new MCBC and MCBY magnets have to be designed and produced using radiation hard impregnation insulation and materials. [...]

Electromagnetic design of superconducting multipole corrector magnets based on sector coils / Louzguiti, Alexandre (CERN) ; Schoerling, Daniel (CERN)
We present here analytical formulas derived for sector coils with 2N poles, an iron screen and optional iron poles. These formulas can be used to produce optimized conceptual electromagnetic designs of superconducting cosine-theta corrector magnets with 2N poles. [...]

The UT-CERN Cos-theta LHC-Type Nb$_{3}$Sn Dipole Magnet / ten Kate, Herman H J (Twente U., Enschede ; CERN) ; den Ouden, Andries (Nijmegen U.) ; Schoerling, Daniel (CERN)
This chapter reports on the University of Twente (UT)–European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) cos-theta LHC-type Nb$_{3}$Sn dipole magnet program. In this program an experimental 1 m long two-layer cos-theta dipole magnet was developed using Rutherford cables made with powder-in-tube Nb$_{3}$Sn composite wires. [...]
