Electromagnetic processes of charged particles interaction with oriented crystals provide a wide variety of innovative applications such as beam steering, crystal-based extraction/collimation of leptons and hadrons in an accelerator, a fixed-target experiment on magnetic and electric dipole moment measurement, X-ray and gamma radiation source for radiotherapy and nuclear physics and a positron source for lepton and muon colliders, a compact crystalline calorimeter as well as plasma acceleration in the crystal media. One of the main challenges is to develop an up-to-date, universal and fast simulation tool to simulate these applications. [...]

Report on G4‐Med, a Geant4 benchmarking system for medical physics applications developed by the Geant4 Medical Simulation Benchmarking Group
/ Arce, P (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Bolst, D (Wollongong U.) ; Cutajar, D (Wollongong U.) ; Guatelli, S (Wollongong U.) ; Le, A (Wollongong U.) ; Rosenfeld, A B (Wollongong U.) ; Sakata, D (Wollongong U.) ; Bordage, M‐C (CRCT, Toulouse) ; Brown, J M C (KIN, Delft) ; Cirrone, P (INFN, LNS) et al.
Geant4 is a Monte Carlo code extensively used in medical physics for a wide range of applications, such as dosimetry, micro‐ and nano‐ dosimetry, imaging, radiation protection and nuclear medicine. Geant4 is continuously evolving, so it is crucial to have a system that benchmarks this Monte Carlo code for medical physics against reference data and to perform regression testing. [...]

EuPRAXIA@SPARC_LAB Design study towards a compact FEL facility at LNF
/ Ferrario, M. (Frascati) ; Alesini, D. (Frascati) ; Anania, M.P. (Frascati) ; Artioli, M. (ENEA, Bologna) ; Bacci, A. (INFN, Milan) ; Bartocci, S. (Sassari U.) ; Bedogni, R. (Frascati) ; Bellaveglia, M. (Frascati) ; Biagioni, A. (Frascati) ; Bisesto, F. (Frascati) et al.
On the wake of the results obtained so far at the SPARC\_LAB test-facility at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (Italy), we are currently investigating the possibility to design and build a new multi-disciplinary user-facility, equipped with a soft X-ray Free Electron Laser (FEL) driven by a ∼1 GeV high brightness linac based on plasma accelerator modules. This design study is performed in synergy with the EuPRAXIA design study. [...]
